I have a few errands, and then I have an Entr'acte to orchestrate from Rob's sketch.

Congrats to MR BK and KAY COLE on their successful CD launch party.  It sounds as if everyone had a good time!

Meeting vibes for tomorrow!

I shall have to think about the TOD.  I agree that mustard plaster sounds pretty horrific as does mustard gas which i surmise was used in WWI as a weapon.

I am off in the rain for shopping and banking today.

I watched MY COUSIN RACHEL last night on TCM....they are doing a short Robert Osborne tribute between films and instead of the regular intros.  From what happened at the very beginning, I thought the hero was going to end up hanged....but he didn't

Then I watched PRINCE OF PLAYERS which had lots of nice Richard Burton scenes of William Shakespeare.  It also had Maggie McNamara doing the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet with him.   Ba-ro-ther!  She's not spectacularly bad like Susan Strasberg in STAGE STRUCK, but she is shockingly bad......  It was Fox in 1954, so I guess we should be glad we didn't get June Haver or Sheree North in the role....  Jean Peters might have been okay!

John Derek was John Wilkes Booth, and dark mysterious music played every time he hit the screen - even when he was 12 years old.....courtesy Mr. Bernard Herrmann.

Last night, I dreamed that I was in the book dept. of Harrod's and London was flooding.  I have no idea if I were an employee or a customer.

TOD:

I never quite knew what a poultice - or a mustard plaster - were.  They always sounded icky.  The word poultice doesn't even look right.  It's like it's trying to have something to do with poultry.  Or poutine.

A friend once found, in beautiful condition, an antique electrical "thing" for curing various ills.  I forget now exactly what it looked like, but he researched it and found there had been a bunch of these things.

There's plenty to amuse on this page:

TOD: Using wet tobacco on a wasp sting to draw out the stinger. It works.

DR ELMORE I think the VIXMOM SCHOOL OF BUSINESS is where Laura Wingfield was enrolled.....and we all know what happened when Amanda showed up there to find out how she was doing!

DR CHAS SMITH I have seen some of those things.....I think their motto should be the same as the caterers in DON'T DRINK THE WATER:  "At least nobody died."

I got a bit worn out from walking and carrying.  I made an appointment with my new doctor and he rushed me right in....on April 10.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Richard and I had a 9am appointment at the local Social Security office, after which we went to breakfast and to the public library.  Home now waiting for the rain to let up before I head out to the grocery.
