Joshie and I got a beautiful email from Jack Viertel, thanking us for the orchestrations, and calling us "Irv and Sid,"  It was really kind. He wrote:
You sent me straight to heaven today, where I expect to stay for the next ten days or so, breaking in to choruses of The Heaven Hop from time to time as the mood strikes.

Your devotion to the cause is admirable enough, but your inspiration and skill go way beyond that. The work is thrilling and I’m very humbled and happy to be the recipient of the thrill.

That is lovely, that's a letter to be treasured

Finally caught up with Best Worst Thing that Ever Could Have Happened, the documentary about Merrily We Roll Along.  More in the notes.  It's finally on the Flix of Net - I don't know why it's not under new releases or trending now or newly added or whatever - it's like they don't want people to see it.  It's not like I haven't watched other show biz documentaries.  Searching it was frustrating, too - took a while to find it.

Went to another nearby Rite Aid for my cherry chocolate chip - none.  Here's what this means to me: Once again, I write about something in the notes and once again everyone goes out and buys it all up.  I can only tell you that until I wrote repeatedly about it, you could find the pre-packaged cherry chocolate chip at EVERY SINGLE Rite Aid.  Coincidence?  I don't know...  I bought a quart from the actual ice cream counter, so that should last a while.

I am tired, and happy.  It's been a long day, and all the orchestrations are finished.  Today, Joshie and I did the Curtain Calls paste-up, and wrote the Opening of Act I, several transitions, and the Wedding March.

Joshie has some library fixes to make in the scores tomorrow, so I am staying home and having a day for myself.  this next week is hectic, and I may do some laundry.

Doesn't matter. I've still had the song in my head despite a day of listening to singer songwriters. My favorite was Curtis McMurtry, grandson of Lonesome Dove author Larry McMurtry. He says he writes mean songs. They are. Mean and funny.
