Good evening. We had a whirlwind trip to Palm Springs and enjoyed a concert by Jason Graae and Liz Callaway.

And Manchester by the Sea is finally over.

Woody Allen once said that the movies in his head are never the movies he ended up with. Seeing the scenes in the before starting the movie, I think the same thing happened with this one.

We recently saw A UNITED KINGDOM and preferred it to Manchester.  The performances by, IMHO, David Oyelowo & Rosamund Pike were terrific.

San Antonio's mayor, whom I dislike, has chosen an odd selection for the next citywide read. We've had "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "The Bicycle Thief" in the past. Now we're going to read "Art of the Pie: A Practical Guide to Homemade Crusts, Fillings and Life" by Kate McDermott. Very weird. But I look forward to chapter on rhubarb pie.

I looked up "The Bycicle Thief" is that by Gunter Schaule?  There is another book with that title which is a Hardy Boys mystery.
