Well, tonight I'm going to audition for a local production of Hairspray.  I haven't been in a "regular" musical in quite a few years.  The last actual musical that I was in was Cannibal! The Musical! in 2011.  I hope I at least don't embarrass myself. ::)

TOD:
I admit I've seen very few old movies. I think I saw "All About Eve" and that's it for Betty Davis movies and I've never seen Joan Crawford in anything. But I'm absolutely LOVING "Feud." It's just so splendidly written and Susan Sarandon is so terrific in it. And the whole thing has made me very curious about "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" and now I feel like I should see it.

Maybe it relates to the Golden Apple, but then how to explain the cherry pie.

So, if you recall the post I posted about trying to purchase an LP from a seller online, who turns out doesn't have the LP anymore?  Well, the entire LP is on youtube.

Just sayin'

Here's a thing:

A few weeks ago, I used TurboTax for my federal/state taxes.  Have been using TurboTax the past 8 years.

When all was done, I had TurboTax "e-file" my returns.   I didn't give it another thought for 24 hours.  That's when I discovered e-mails telling me my returns had been 'rejected'.  The cause given:  Someone had already e-filed taxes under my name and SSN.

A few days later, I discovered a letter from the IRS that I had overlooked and put down.  It informed me of this filing which IRS thought looked suspicious since it didn't resemble past years' e-filings.  I called them, verified my identity by citing facts from my previous filing.

They advised me to print out my e-filed returns, sign them, attach payments, W-2s and 1009s to them and mail them in.  They rejected the earlier fake submission, but I would not be able to e-file for the past year's taxes.  This is, apparently, a huge problem in the IRS this year.   It may have evolved from the Google breach of security last year in which tons of personal data was stolen electronically.

I immediately subscribed to LifeLock which, I'm happy to say, showed no further attempts to forge my identity.  I've changed ALL my passwords, as well.

It's always SOMETHING, isn't it!

I'm up, I'm up - I can't imagine I got more than six hours of sleep - allergies a bit and then an active mind being obsessed with this potential What If.

Well, there really are only four adult male roles in the show:  Edna Turnblad (who is pre-cast), Wilbur Turnblad, Mr. Pinky (and others), and Corny Collins.  I'm not right for Corny, at all, so either Wilbur or the Mr. Pinky track would be it.

Seriously, God bless all the hopefuls of New York City, who -- at whatever their age and skill level -- know how to bring in a piece of music that can be handled, read, and played.  God bless 'em, I say.

This was actually an enjoyable four hours of it, especially following on the heels of the three days of HELL of it last week.
(That wasn't fresh hell, either.  It was rancid hell.)

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  Rob and I had to be at the book sale site at 9am today to help vacate the venue.  They really needed my voluminous vehicle and Rob's muscle; I helped pack up a bit and mostly provided moral support.  We were home in time for lunch, so Rob went out to get Chinese food for us and crashed for a nap.  I, on the other hand, tore apart my art corner to incorporate a new storage rack that they'd used this year for cassettes and were going to send to Goodwill.  It works perfectly for my stamp ink pads and there's plenty of room to grow my collection!

Must have been the night/morning for weird dreams.  My alarm was set for 7, but I got up at 6:30 thankful to be out of a dream in which I was late for a class.  I couldn't get to where I'd left my textbook that we were going to need for an open-book quiz.  The elevators weren't running properly, some guy tried to chat me up, and I had to call on my (former) best friend with whom I had a bad falling out about 20 years ago.  When I woke up half an hour before necessary, I was glad to be awake and went ahead and got up.

Loved the extensive ruminations on Baby Jane, et al. in the notes.  What a landmark movie.  I remember reading the movie tie-in paperback and getting freaked out by it before seeing the movie, and the movie itself really freaked me out.  I loved it then and I love it now.  And I love Charlotte almost as much.  I don't know much about Robert Aldrich, and I have no idea how faithful to any known truths Feud is regarding him, but what a genius moment in film history was Baby Jane

Y'all can add my dreams (two whole sets of them, both before and after a 3:30 a.m. bathroom break) to everyone else's complex and bizarre ones from last night.

Relating them here wouldn't even make as much sense as the ones already described, but they were doozies.

I also have to say, regarding Aldrich, Davis, & Crawford, that through Feud, as over the top that it is (if indeed it really is over the top, who am I to say?), I have come to admire both of these women more than ever.  Especially Davis, no question about it, right up to the end.  But both of them.  This li'l mini-series has opened my eyes to much more than I ever knew I wanted to dig into.

DR Ron thank goodness the IRS was also looking out for you and corrected the problem.

They told me this was a program they were forced to put together over the past two years and this year was the first full implementation.
