Last night, I house managed (selling concessions, checking in presold tickets, giving curtain speech) TAO's first of two extra performances of 1984 by George Orwell, adapted for the stage by Michael Gene Sullivan.  We were completely sold out. We actually added four extra seats...including one for me!

How was the show?

It was so good.  Overall, it was an even better performance than the first time I saw it, which is ALWAYS a good thing!

The audience loved it.  You could tell that they were there to see this show, not just have a night at the theater.  I was in the middle row on one side and could see people throughout the show lean forward and really pay attention to certain moments.

Tomorrow's show isn't sold out yet, but there are more tickets sold now for that than there were yesterday afternoon for last night's show, so it's a pretty good bet that it'll sell out, too.

From yesterday, thanks John, Jane and TCB for the supportive comments about me dropping Netflix.  When I cancelled, it said that they would keep my DVD and streaming lists for 10 months if I change my mind.  We'll see if I do. ;)

The reason that it took so long was that you had the wrong unit number (I PM'd you the correct number), but it was forwarded to me, so it's all good! ;D

So after 1984 last night, I went to McMenamin's Spar Café and was just going to get a little something to eat and continue reading the book 1984 on my Kindle.  After I ordered, John (the actor who plays O'Brien...he was also in TAO's The HEAD! That Wouldn't DIE!!), his wife, and a friend if theirs showed up for drinks and invited me to join them.  I did, and we had a lovely chat while I didn't read my Kindle.

I hope you didn't watch the end of the play, because then you will know how the book ends.

It was so slow yesterday that before three I had actually completed all my work and had , for possibly the first time in years, a completely clear desk

I don't usually use the laundromat but for that many robes it was the fastest way and it is right across the street from the church

Within an hour I had the robes washed, dried and back to the church
