Well, I'm just waiting until about 7:15 or so when I'll go to Baskin-Robbins and get a small chocolate malt for Margo. She texted me earlier that she's out of surgery and hasn't really had anything to eat for a couple of days now,. She's more than ready for a chocolate malt! Don't worry...she's being fed real food at the hospital before I get there.

And yes, it's much talkier than the film - Hitchcock cuts all the fat (the screenplay is by the playwright) and adds some additional suspense that can't be done in the play. Another day of Fiesta. Today, I sold beer. It was cool outside (in the mid-60s and with a strong wind). And people were drinking whatever it took to get drunk. So, we sold more 16-ouncce beers than 12-ounce beers. Because that's how we party nowadays.

I picked up a couple of extra Fiesta medals today, and I got news that I won another in an online contest. I don't think I've ever collected so many in one year.

For those not from San Antonio, many businesses and charities, agencies and Fiesta lovers create their own medals each year. Some are fundraisers for charity. A few others are gifts. Many are advertisements. Some collect dozens of them each year. I can't afford that many, but I did buy a few from charities that I support, such as those who feed the homeless. A few restaurants gave me theirs, and one today was for Bud Light since we were selling their beer.

I'm a little more than a third of the way through. It's loaded with information and a certain fizz, but on a certain level, it feels like the writer spent most of her time reading Wikipedia entries and the most superficial of stories. As soon as I get into a tale of someone like Jean Renoir or Maurice Ravel, we're on to Darius Milhaud or Le Corbousier.

We heard a very interesting talk about Nikolai Teska by a group that are in the process of renovating and restoring his last laboratory (right here on the north shore on the east end of the Island) and creating a museum and science center on the site
