First dress/tech rehearsal went pretty well.

Act 1 last night, Act 2 tonight.

Sounds pretty good with the whole orchestra and all the keyboards there.

Cute story, too, I guess.  It's about this...  fish...

TOD:

I used to be fluent in Spanish and English, but nowadays I have my doubts about both.

My German and French get better the more I drink. I know a decent smattering of Portuguese and a few words of Italian and Greek.

I studied Spanish in school from junior high through advanced college level. I got pretty good and reading and writing, but could never speak it fluently. You really need emersion classes for that. I still understand it a little, but not much.

When I returned on Saturday, my flight got on an hour and half late, so I had to run.  I had a show to play (sight read!!) and church business to attend to. In the end, I probably didn't stop until 8:00pm on Sunday.  But such is life.

The dogs were happy to see me and happy to see each other as they had been separated for a week.

Elmore doyou have a recliner?  I find when my back is acting up I can often get a better nights sleep in the recliner

No, DR vixmom, I do not.  The thing that set this problem iunto motion happened on Friday.  I can no longer stretch enough to put a sock on my left foot. When I can do it, it triggers the horrible pains and immobility in my lower right back.  Sunday was a pain-free day since I never wore socks.

I'm dressed and I must go into City Center, but I would far rather lie here on a heating pad.

After my knee operation they gave me sock pullers. You put the sock on first. place it on the floor and pull them on with ropes. It was very helpful for me. They also gave me a shoe horn. Here is a video. It might be helpful for you.

Thanks! This is great.

Joshie and I are taking the job for Rob Berman.  It's an evening of Lerner and Loewe at the 92nd Street Y, which plays the weekend of June 1.  If all is good with the Miami U library, I will travel June 6-14.  I'm now waiting to hear of any conflicts there for those dates.

I hope so! I love Lerner & Loewe and the song list and cast looks great.  Working with Joshie and Rob is one of my favorite things (an R&H refernce!).

Tuesday afternoon greetings!  I slept much better last night and went at noon today to the library where my career began for this month's book discussion on Larry McMurtry's The Last Picture Show.  I'm only about halfway through the book, but enjoying the writing very much.  I'd tried to read Terms of Endearment years ago and got bogged down.

I studied about the same amount of Spanish, but remember very little.  In my senior year of college, I had some open time so I took a first-year French and wish I'd kept up with it.  Oddly enough, when we were in France I found myself remembering the Spanish words for things...
