I'll also add "Comedy Tonight" from A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and "Someone's Moving In" from Brownstone.

One of my favorites is "It's About Magic" from Merlin, but unfortunately it went downhill from there.

Another another one is "Magic To Do" from Fosse's version of Pippin. The floating hands!

Crazy day today, running around this morning and playing rehearsals and a spring concert this evening.  Oy.  I'm going to "retire" from this kind of thing after these are over and done with, and only work on shows from now on.  Them's what I love, and the other stuff has just gotten old.

TOD:  In addition to the ones already mentioned -

"Circle of Life" from The Lion King

While not the actual opening, "Fugue for Tinhorns" sets up "Guys and Dolls" so well

TOD:

I could probably cite many, but a few that come to mind, in addition to those mentioned include:

Dites-moi in South Pacific
Oh, What a Beautiful Morning in Oklahoma
The Carousel Waltz in Carousel
Man, We're Beat in The Nervous Set
The opening of My Favorite Year
Company
The haunting melody of All Things Bright and Beautiful in Follies
Pacific Overtures
Attend the Tale of Sweeney Todd

I had one doozy of a dream set in that Neverland where Middletown, Ohio, collides with New York City. My friends in the dream included Joshie, Ben Davis, Jack Viertel, Jim Roman, and others from Middletown and regional theatre jobs. It was something to do with a trip to the Miami River, a water parkm and someone being shot by a gun Joshie happened to have.

So, today I will attend the afternoon dress of The Golden Apple, then have dinner with Susanna Moross Tarjan, and then catch tonight's invited dress for The Golden Apple.  I hope it all goes well.  It will be a long day.

Tuesday morning greetings!  It's raining - again - here in SW Ohio.  At least it cleared out for a couple of days so that they could run the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati and most of Great Nephew J's birthday party could be outside.  Oh, and Richard and I got to the grocery yesterday.

I am still coughing and that shopping trip yesterday wore me out.  Have to feel better by the end of the week because I have some fun girlfriend things planned for Friday and Saturday.

For those of you who have seen The Great Comet of 1812, why is Pierre referred to as a tired old man? I doubt he's more than 30 years old in 1812.

What I'm wondering about Elmo's dream is this:

It may have been Joshie's gun that shot someone, but WHO pulled the trigger?  Hmmmm?

That was the mystery and we'll never know.

Saw my doctor yesterday afternoon.

She was thrilled with my labs results.

She was, however, concerned about my hospital visit and the reasons I went.

She asked me a lot of questions (which she had asked me a month ago) and I apparently scored higher than I did a month ago.

The end result:  She has prescribed Prozac to help me abate/appease the anxiety I'm stressing over about my upcoming move across country.
