Usually, I'm promoting my own books, but today I want to make you aware of a fantastic new book written by a friend of mine, Tom Sawyer (
no relation to Huckleberry Finn).
Tom began his career as a cartoonist, illustrating many classic comic strips of the 1950s. Moving to Hollywood, he wrote, produced and directed films and television series and is, most likely, best remembered for his work as the show runner on
MURDER, SHE WROTE with Angela Lansbury. Indeed, when the ratings sagged, he saved the show.
Tom's new memoir, "
The Adventures of the REAL Tom Sawyer," is one of the most engrossing and honest show business autobiographies I've come across in a long time. He pulls no punches about the business or himself.
If you aspire to get into "show business," or just like to read about how the business REALLY works, you will find Tom's book a fast, entertaining and informative read. I highly recommend it.
