The freeway between Tacoma and Olympia (and Lacey) is considered to be one of the four worst highways for Memorial Day traffic.

Part of that is because in the middle of that drive is Joint Base Lewis-McChord. JMLM is a huge military base and almost all of the main entrances are from Interstate 5.

Traffic on a regular Friday is bad enough, but for a three day weekend it is a nightmare.

This afternoon, on the drive back, the traffic heading the opposite direction (toward the ocean) was a giant parking lot.

They just said on the newscast that this is the first time, since 1995, that all three days of the weekend are forecast to be sunny and warm.
