I got caught in the rain while waiting for the bus, but I am home.  Joshie and I are caught up, and I will finish "The Parisians" here tonight and take it to tomorrow's rehearsal.

Tomorrow morning I need to run down to 2nd Avenue and 19th Street - that's a real schlep - before the band rehearsal.

Major storm is rocking the joint. The rain sounds like hail. Wouldn't be surprised to read of flash floods.

Today (so far) has been overcast and quite a nice change from the heat over the weekend. :)

Well, I just received four, count 'em, FOUR CDs from www.dresscircle.com:

Tom Foolery, original London cast recording
Twang!, original London cast recording
Out of the Lens, the original Edinburgh cast recording (never heard or heard of it...bought it on a whim)
Outlander, the concept recording from 2010 (this is based only on the books, the TV series hadn't happened yet)

I just realized that they're all CD-Rs.  I didn't plan on that, but there you have it.

But before I listen to those, I will finish listening to the new reissue of Blondel that I received last week.

The plumber arrived this morning and my kitchen sink now drains properly. The guy was on time and didn't yell at me like he usually does, nor did he blame me for the problem. He used to have a real anger management problem. I suspect he's taking some sort of medication, as he was definitely subdued.

I cleaned it all up and am very glad to have a functioning sink again.

I managed to get several things done while waiting for the plumber and after cleaning up. Always nice to get things done.

I've always heard that you shouldn't put Liquid Plumber down the garbage disposal, but my handy neighbor insists its OK. It didn't clear this clog, but it's certainly useful for other clogs.

Evening all.  I don't know what I got into yesterday but I was sick all day long.  I didn't go to work today so I could rest and  I'm feeling better this evening.

I have to say it.  Men are weird.  Present company excepted.  I've already canceled my subscription and don't plan on trying any of the other sites.  I guess I'm just not meant to have someone special in my life.

DR Jeanne--regarding the casino and the wheel, they're in a complex called National Harbor.  It's right over the Wilson Bridge in Prince George's County, Maryland.

I think National Harbor (which includes another big hotel, shops and restaurants ) has been around for several years, but the casino just opened late last year.

Yes, The Wharf is on King Street a couple of blocks from the river. My friend from California loves going there for "she-crab soup."

It looks like DR vixmom's photo was taken in front of the Torpedo Factory, as you guessed, DR Jeanne. (Don't mean to speak for you, DR vixmom!)

Fascinating day with the writer.  He had not one comment on the script, which, as you know, I have heavily revised, so that was good.  But MANY comments on the music, some of which I'm happy to try and some I have to say no to - he's a good guy and he's all about the music, but sometimes he just doesn't "get" why we've changed up something in a song, all because we have to make it work for the scene and character - the issue in this show is that there are performance numbers and character numbers, and I feel strongly the latter have to function differently than the former.

We let everyone go at three, we did the note session with the writer, which he began not in the best way by antagonizing the musical director - not his intention, I think, but it was abrasive and confrontational, which is not the way to ever do these things if you want a good result.  I think he realized that later.  I basically refused to comment on most of the stuff other than general stuff, because I want him to understand I have to digest everything.

Kay and I then had a meal, after which I picked up packages and since it's still early I came home to relax between rehearsals, which I may now do every day.
