When I saw Cats, the mechanism that is supposed to lift Grizabella to the heavyside layer malfunctioned, the smoke machines stopped and we got to see all the mechanical stuff at work, thereby ruining the show's big magical moment.

A tree fell onto the wires somewhere in the vicinity of Randy's new home.  Around 1200 were without power for several hours.  Cincinnati Gas and Electric texted Jo about an hour ago with the news that some power had been restored but we could not expect it before noon. 45 minutes all was repaired and here I am.

Around 1:00 I will go to a market, buy some things for tonight's party, and take them over to DR Ginny's.  When Jo did her grocery run this morning, she bought me the beer and chips.  She's making a Mexican dip for tonight.  She and Randy are not coming to the party, although I wish they would.

What a horrible experience for you and your family, TCB. 

It certainly sounds like there should have been some good counseling and hand-holding from the legal team...and probably not just yesterday.  Tough judge, too, in light of both legal teams' recommendations.  Holy moley.

I know I have a couple of good disasters in my memory banks, but the banks seem to be closed today.

A small but cringeworthy one, also involving a gun, that I ALWAYS remember:  I was piano-conducting a small backstage band for Kiss of the Spider Woman, and one night the warden's gun refused to fire.  After a few pathetic clicks, he finally shouted "BANG!" .. and the scene more or less went on.

I recall stopping with friends at Rancho Park (just around the corner from me) to watch them film Batman.  Burt Ward was a bit full of himself, or simply tired of teenage girls following him around, and was a bit aloof.  Funny though, we were there out of curiosity and to see the Batmobile.  The Batmobile sounded like it was falling apart, very entertaining.  I know Adam West was there but he must have been busy working. 

End of story as we left for my house.
