You all know that we give lots of vibes around here, vibes flying left and right some days. I suspect that this may be a first for wheel and cord vibes, though. Any HHW historians about?

Why are there people having a loud conversation outside my house?

that happened here the other night. It was 4:30 am. When I got up and looked outside I saw what appeared to be badges on both the men. Oh. I think there's a disoriented homeless man who, for some reason, thinks he belongs here and tries to bunk down near our carport.

I know I have a couple of good disasters in my memory banks, but the banks seem to be closed today.

A small but cringeworthy one, also involving a gun, that I ALWAYS remember:  I was piano-conducting a small backstage band for Kiss of the Spider Woman, and one night the warden's gun refused to fire.  After a few pathetic clicks, he finally shouted "BANG!" .. and the scene more or less went on.

that's actually quite funny.

DR TCB - I don't think there is anyway to prepare for what you and your family went through yesterday.

My thoughts and prayers are with both families....

I am so sorry. This is horrible.  How can a judge double the sentence that both lawyers agreed upon?  That makes no sense.

Thanks for the book suggestion as a gift idea, Vixmom. My friend was very excited. She had just started reading again two weeks after her surgery.

It was a nice visit. Jan had had quadruple bypass that was long overdue. Her husband was really shaken by the whole thing and has been by her side ever since. He said Joy and I were the first non medical personnel to go through their door in two weeks.
