I am mostly sad that I will not be able to audition or be in LAUGHING STOCK which I have looked forward to since DR GEORGE posted about the production he was in.....I just do not think I will be strong enough to be onstage during the rehearsals that will begin at the end of July.....my chemo/radiation should end in August, but I don't want to be cast and then have to drop out.....

I listened to Puccini's Messa di Gloria this morning, and now I'm on to Scarlatti's Stabat Mater.

I would like to buy the Nathan Lane version of THE MAN WHO CAME TO DINNER, but it is $36.00 on Amazon.

I only saw the original movie.  Having seen you act, I greatly suspect you gave a better performance.  We enjoyed a wonderful production at the Ashland Shakespeare Festival.

This dead elevator situation in my apartment is working my last nerve this morning.  I have trash to take to the basement and I cannot cart it down stairs alone.  I could maneuver the lift.

Canned you put it outside your door or near the elevator?

I am ushering in a bit for a world premiere production of a show called Through the Wall. It's about the lives of Mexican migrants who have crossed the border into the U.S. It's all based on interviews from children as well as adults, kind of like what Anna Devere Smith does. I have a feeling it's going to be a very emotional afternoon.

That might be a good idea, since we're not even at page 4 yet at 2:30 EST!

This was my advice to summer interns.

Tune of (of course)  “Summer Nights”

Summer intern, in N-Y-C
Summer intern, listen to me
You won’t make money to burn
But you’ll find so much to learn

Summer day, earn what they pay
But enjoy your summer nights

(Well, oh, well, oh well, uh huh
Tell me more, tell me more
Heard there’s so much to see
Tell me more, tell me more
I hear Shakespeare is free)

Uh huh. Uh huh!
If your bosses buy a nice lunch
Be real grateful, thank them a bunch
If you’re offered any nice perk
Let it show in your hard work

Summer youth, don’t be uncouth
And don’t stay out late, those summer nights
Whoa, whoa, whoa

(Tell me more, tell me more!
Can I surf on the net?
Tell me more, tell me more!
Will that get them upset?)

Uh huh, Uh huh!
Summer clerk, you’re there to work
Still enjoy – those su-u-mmer nights!
(Tell me more, tell me more!)

That should annoy the parody-stalker if he or they are lurking here.

And the parody stalker(s) should notice how easy it is to just completely pass over a lyric when you don;t want to read one.  I don;t know why they stop and read them if they are bothered by them.

I found out that TAO's 5 Lesbians Eating acQuiche totally sold out last night!  A reviewer came on Friday's opening night and he loved it!  He and another person recorded a podcast that they do together.  I was told that they're giving the show a rave revue!

And what songs are they going to do in the revue? :-)

AARRGGHH!! and SPOO!!

I commiserate with FJL on the stalker thing - we all know I have my very own lovely stalker from time to time.  Always fun when she comes out of the corn to stalk.

I often read the posts on the NYT. Some I strongly disagree with, and in a few cases I think the posters are real idiots. But why would anyone object to verse? If I saw something there that didn't appeal to me I'd just skip over it. Gawd! Aside from pure malice it's difficult for me to understand an objection.
