BK- such fun pictures in the notes!

I'm sort-of hoping that one day, if the timing and venue is right at some point in the future, Mr. Guest will play either Centauri (or maybe your roles of Otis and Grig) in The Last Starfighter musical.    Kind of like Melissa Gilbert playing the mother part in the Prairie musical, or Patty Duke going on to play the adult Annie Sullivan role in Miracle Worker - not the nature of the pieces, of course, just the concept of the one who first played the young characater playing the older character years later.  i think it would work beautifully artistically, and probably commercially.

I keep hearing on the screen front, "Last Starfighter" is coming to TV as "Starfighter Chronicles," but I haven't read any articles about it in the last few months.  Hoping it's still happening.  It'd be good for the musical, of course.

That would be cool!  Hopefully, it'll be on broadcast/cable TV and not something like a TV station's pay-per-view on-line only access.  The new "Star Trek Discovery" series is going to be on CBS's pay-site All Access. :P

Topic of the Day:

My choice would be the DESPECIALIZED editions (meaning the original theatrical versions without George Lucas' later digital tinkerings) of Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, and The Return of the Jedi!  They've been released on VHS, but the original versions have never been officially available on hi-def DVD or Blu-ray.

Keeping with the Russian theme, I saw "Anastasia" yesterday afternoon.  I really loved it.  I think DR Elmore's friend, Caroline O'Connor, should have been nominated for a Tony, if only for her facial expressions!

I listened to the CD this morning. Really enjoyed it.

I got this a couple of weeks ago, but haven't listened to it.  I need to get through too many other CDs that I've gotten before this.  I try to listen to them in approximate order of being received.  I love Ahrens and Flaherty, so I think I'll move this up the list. :)

Listening to a performance of the Rachmaninov third - music that gets to me and very nice performance by a newish conductor called Gianandrea Noseda.  Lovely performance, well played and certainly up there with the best of them.  I can't say the same about his performance of the second, which I was buying until the final movement - it just lacks that panache that the best of them have - although I'll give it another listen - who knows, it may grow on me.

I've shaved already, so that's done.  Just relaxing until it's time to mosey on over to The Federal.  I did my banking and picked up yesterday's packages - there may be some from today so I may stop by there on my way.

Listening to a Prokofiev ballet set - all Melodiya recordings.  The first one is called Chout and it's grand Mr. P.

My friend and her daughter were in NY last week and stood across the street where THE TONYS were being held.  They saw many celebrities, including Kevin Space, Sally Field, Danny devito and others.  Some of them waved back to them!  They had a star struck moment!!!

Elevator vibes to DR Elmore.

Don't get me started on how I feel about this, but it probably isn't the fault of your building management.
