Good morning, DR TCB!  We never seem to be online at the same time, so it's nice to see you.

Thursday morning greetings!  Today we head into Chicago.  We're taking our car to offsite parking at Midway airport and taxiing to The Palmer House.

I used to love Raisinets.  I wonder if they carry them at Safeway?

TOD:

5th Avenue (especially when there was an almond on top)
Zero (still love these)
Butterfinger (still love these, too, but my crowns aren't very happy with them)
Malted Milk Balls

I used to love Three Musketeers, but not so much any more.

Snickers (will never tire of this candy bar)

Baby Ruth (this used to be a good one, but now it's like chewing plastic wrap).

And now gone, but not forgotten:

Butternut.  LOVED this candy bar.

I also adore(d) Kraft Fudgies (the chocolate ones).

The Palmer House is most appropriate DR GINNY.

We thought it was about time we stayed there.  Our room is described as "hip and historic," which probably really means "small."

I very much like those round chocolates with the hazelnut in the center of a chocolate ganache surrounded by a thin wafer, coated in chocolate and covered with crushed hazelnuts ... I can't think of the name of them at the moment.

I am sure Jane hates them

Frightened is more appropriate than hate  ;)

Also to be savored and eaten over a period of days, one segment at a time

Not my thing,  however, if they were only one segment a day would be rather challenging.

Raisinets have been a favorite since just about forever.  In my early moviegoing days, in the chocolate department it would either be Milk Duds (which I find horrible now) or Raisinets.  The last Raisinets I had were a box of the dark chocolate ones back around Christmas.  Yum.

I feel the same way about Milk Duds.

I make my own Raisinets now with a handful of raisins and Ghirardelli chocolate chips.

DR Ron I am surprised Butterfingers bother your crowns.  I only have them anymore if I can find the small wrapped ones.  I usually find them in baskets at businesses that leave treats out of mixed candy.
