If we say Vancouver, Washington people mostly hear BC.  If we say Washington State they hear D.C.  It is rather frustrating ;D

Wait till you've had to deal with that for 40 years!

Well, it's time for me to leave work and go to rehearsal, so I will.  We're choreographying tonight, so it's dancin' time!

Be back later.

;D  You only have to deal with the D.C. portion, we get the rest of it.  Almost, not that I mention we live in Clark County.

Hello from the 20th floor of Chicago's Palmer House!  We upgraded to get a larger room with a view and vouchers for 10 free drinks in the hotel's venues.  We have a corner room with 2 windows.  From one we can see the marquee for HAMILTON, which we're seeing Saturday evening.  From the other, if you stand at one end, we can see Lake Michigan.

We unpacked and headed for North Michigan Avenue to do an errand at the Apple Store and to attend a gathering of University of Michigan School of Library Science Information alumni.  Came back here, had burgers and our first 2 free drinks, and now we've crashed for the night.

These days are filled with theatre camp and nights at home with the boys.  I think they are starting to catch on.

Currently working on Bye Bye Birdie which I love in a weird sort of way. Charles Strouse is a genius.  This is my 7th time with the show.

It was a lovely funeral.  Our friends uncle ( on his dad's side )  ) is a Roman Catholic priest,(BIL to the deceased) he presided over the service with our friends two children ( a boy and a girl , they are 10 months apart in age and in the same grade, they both just graduated 8th grade)  serving as the altar servants.  The deceased daughter in law and her mother each read one other lessons, our friend Jeff did the eulogy for his Mom and there was a small but talented choir

After everything was over there was a meal at a local restaurant where we all shared stories of Madelyn who lived a good 94 years and was beloved by all who met her

Watching the extras of The Maltese Falcon. First, DR Druxy starts talking, then Larry Cohen. That made it even more fun.

These are delicious crumbled into Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream.

I have a friend with an ice cream parlor who makes coffee Heath ice cream. It's an addiction.

(I have a short story about my one stay at the Palmer House back in the early '90s that isn't so glamorous.  I'll tell it when I'm at a real keyboard.)

(I almost posted "when I'm at a real typewriter".)

Mr. dePaola is a wonderful guy to sit and chat with.  I said hello from DR Ginny and the librarians in Middletown, Ohio, and he loved that.  He said to say he unashamedly loves librarians.

Back to the TOD:

There is a candy that was created in Louisville called Majeskas. They were named apparently in honor of a visiting actress.

Anyway, it's a crazy combination of marshmallow dipped in a caramel sauce that's got plenty of butter and vanilla in it. Mom's version is rolled in chopped pecans, which just lifts it to the next level. The candies are then wrapped in waxed paper until you eat them.

See's Candies has a version that's really irresistible.
