I've returned from all errands.  I dropped off the last edits for Jason, then stopped next door at the jeweler's to buy a new watchband for Mickey, who's very happy with it.  Then to the market for my senior discount.  I spent ;pts and my freezer is happy. I will spend part of the afternoon making chili.

Very nice, Larry!

I used to have a Goofy watch with that kind of watch band, but black leather with silver-tone Mickeys.  Something happened and the band broke, so I wasn't able to get another one with the Mickeys, just a regular black band, very much like this:

Well, some ass in the building called 311 to complain about the elevator and it's been shut down again.  The building services person who showed up declared it unfit and placed a fine on the management. So, thanks to some goddam jerk an elevator that was working has been forced out of service.  Color me really really pissed off.

WTF?  That's terrible! >:(

Topic of the Day:

2001:  A Space Odyssey
Dr. Strangelove
The Shining (it's been so long since I'd read the book that I don't remember it, so the differences didn't bother me)

I used to have a Hopalong Cassidy watch.  Don't know what happened to it, but I loved it!

Ended up at Jerry's Deli because I need matzo ball soup - and a bagel - the soup, I think, was helpful.  Picked up mail and am now home until about five-fifteen.  We'll see if I have a voice later today.

I read the book just after it was published, thanks to our DR Ginny.  I was home after a tonsillectomy and she brought me several books, both good Ethan Mordden's (before his writing deteriorated to nonsense) Better Foot forward - still one of his best -  and The Shining.

I've made a huge vat of chili.  When it cools, I'll freeze most of it.

Better Foot is my favorite of Mordden's books. Very funny and more focused than some of his later books.

I don't know anything about the Off-Broadway show Violet, but I just had to say no to playing in an upcoming college production because it overlaps another commitment.

VIOLET was also on Broadway in 2014 at the Roundabout starring Sutton Foster.

Lyft got me to the airport in 20 minutes for $13. Nice experience.

Were you able to pre-book the pick up time?

No. It took six minutes for pickup.

Have made it to Chicago.

We just missed you, DR John G!  It took us 6 HOURS, but we're home.

So glad to read about what a good time George is having working on his show.  More fun details, please,  as it moves along, if you're not too tired!

Thanks, Fred!  I'll post updates as things happen. ;D

I am sure I missed this info....  Which theater are you doing this and what are the show dates?
