Back from a rough final dress rehearsal. I came right home - didn't have enough voice to give notes - and as soon as I got home I sent all the notes via e-mail. The technical stuff - I just give up. I don't want to work with theaters that don't have their merde together. Light cues still being written, parts of the set still unfinished, this is not how I work. I'd been warned, oh, yes, I'd been warned but I thought we might escape. So many technical things to address - sound and light late cues, all of it. The show was well paced for the most part and we had about ten people there to see it, including several folks who drove down from San Diego because they're Kritzerland regulars. The cast played with energy way too low, so that was my main note: ENERGY, top to bottom. It's a deceptive space and very dead, so you simply have to project.
