Listening to Brahms, another complete cycle, this one conducted by Istvan Kertesz - interestingly Decca Eloquence has issued four different sets of these at dirt cheap prices. So far I'm loving this new set - like Kubelik, Kertesz makes me hear the music in a different way - and this set sounds even better than the Kubelik, which I still love. The other set on Eloquence that I have but was defective so I returned it is conducted by Ernest Ansermet - what I could hear of it was excellent, too, and each of these, for me, are preferable to Ormandy.
