The new DRYER is here.  My brother is coming tomorrow to finish the installation....since we have a wonky pigtail.....

And I shall soon be on my way to Putnam County Playhouse to see a production of Larry Shue's THE FOREIGNER.....the one that I wanted to be in!

Well, today is the Hairspray two-show day!  We will have just about an hour in between the two shows...and that's it.  That's really not enough down time, but it's what we got.  Pray for Rosemary's Babies!

;)

Vibes you maintain the energy required without downtime.

Back from doing stuff - went to Jerry's Deli and had some fruit only.  I think I'm actually going through horrible sugar withdrawal - I have literally not been without some kind of sweets in over ten years.

I am impressed you are resisting sweets.

He was very rudely told by the woman answering the phone that he was ridiculous and that they could not possibly be faxing to the wrong number

She must have complained about the idiot on the phone to someone in her office because seconds later there was a  call , apolgizing for the inconvenience , thanking Vixdad Profusely for his courtesy in calling and pretty much begging him to destroy the paperwork and not to call the patient

Hmmm, good thing she spilled the beans because I am sure the doctor would have hit the ceiling when the patient complained.

Had our final run-through - nine people here and the reaction was amazing - every laugh landed, every bit of patter landed, the songs landed - Kay went up a couple of times in the patter but handled it just right, having fun and being funny.  I think she was a bit shocked how loud some of the laughs are - and the opening number is one of the best I've ever seen in what it actually achieves - it got huge laughs and it isn't a funny song.

Listening to Rachmaninov's piano concerto 5.  Say what, you say?  He only wrote four, you say.  Well, some wacky wag has taken symphony 2, my favorite symphony ever, and refashioned it as a piano concerto - and damn if it doesn't kind of work.

Will you be stocking up on chili while there?

More importantly, will you be stocking up on Vernor's?

Oh yes indeed!  Couple more 12-packs for you, sir?

Oh, lordy!  Not until the elevator's working. I may be leaving Manhattan until it is.

Fr. Richard is subbing again this weekend at Christ Our Hope in Dayton, which means services at 5pm on Saturday and 10:30am on Sunday.  My friend Becky went with us for today's service, after which we had a light supper at Panera.  Tomorrow I will stay home for some solitude.

I just had a delicious bean burger while my dinner companions had tofu bowls.  Keith said we would share a little when I was about to opt for the healthier tofu bowl, which was also delicious.  His idea of sharing was one piece of tofu for me and one bite of the burger for me.  I am now stuffed.

We went with our friends and neighbors to Tommy O's Pacific Rim Bistro.  I had my back to the window and missed most of the classic cars driving by.  Today is Cruise the Couve day, as in cruising the downtown area in classic cars.  Couve is the nickname for Vancouver.

Back in the 1980s, a new company started up in the Hudson, NY, area that sent freshly made meals to you. Turned out the company was run by Gretchen Cryer of zum Getting My Act Together fame. I did a story on her and the business. She was very nice.

Starting to watch Contemporary Color, a David Byrne production in which 10 school color guard squads and 10 musicians are paired up. Pretty visually intense.
