Val says the elevator crew came by yesterday and removed the elevator brake.  It is still down.  He has no idea when it will be back n service.

I went through this same sort of thing back in May...for SIX WEEKS!  Trouble was that the elevator is so antiquated, they no longer manufacture the boards that make it operate.  One had to be built for it...and it was, apparently, not a priority.

My building will be replacing the elevator (i.e., an upgrade) in early October.  By then, I will be living in Johnston SC in a ranch-style abode.

So, how soon should we expect you to arrive in Ohio?

Well that's one way to get to the basement more quickly.

DR Ron, my DH's last couple of weeks before he retired, each evening when he got home, he threw away his uniform shirt. It made a nice countdown.

My only regret about your retirement, DR Ron, is that I won't get to follow your Christmas Adventures.

But I guess we will get to hear about your new Everyday Adventures, so I guess that will be a win.

Back from a fun event for Grant Geissman - he told stories, played tracks, and they served some of the worst food ever - I has only a bit of salad with balsamic dressing and about one bite of bland chicken, and some soggy, flavorless vegetables.  So, basically I've eaten nothing.

I'll ask her tomorrow DR ELMORE.

DR JANE we have a steam feature, too.  I doubt that we will use it.  Time will tell.

Let me know if you use it.  I haven't in the two years we have had the machine.  I keep telling myself I should but am too lazy/unmotivated.

Ron, what's the rush? I have no doubt you're anxious to see all your efforts come to fruition, but will an extra week or so make a difference? Of course, I'm on the outside, so it's easy for me to say. If I were in your shoes I'd probably be feeling rushed, too.

Eight days, Ron. How's that grin?

Tempered by clinched teeth as my folks seem to think now is the time to dump stuff on me.

:o  So much for preparing them for your upcoming exit by working fewer days each week.

Jane, are your eyes still dilated? It's a toss-up as to which is worse: a new crown or eyes dilated.

I have a new personal trainer--AND a new exercise method. There's a Gyrotonics studio next door to my acupuncturist. It's similar to Pilates in their use of pulley-style machines and I've been wanting to try it. Both my acupuncturist, who has taken their classes, and Erik, my therapist, approve. I had my first session yesterday. I felt better after just one session. Of course, much remains to be seen, but I feel optimistic. I woke up today quite sore, though. Arnica took care of a lot of that. I explained to the trainer yesterday what a basket case my back is and emphasized the need to take this SLOOOW. She likes challenges, so that's good!
