I just discovered I have a fan in my neighborhood.  Not only has he downloaded and listened to three of my audio books, but he just came over to my house with three other paperbacks for signature...including my new novel, JACKIE GOES TO DIXIE.

 :)

Doing another radio interview on that one this afternoon.

I called Joshie and got his voice mail.  i forgot he's in sitzprobe for The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin (I think that's the title), which sounds painful.

The sitzprobe? The title? The whole experience?

I heard some of the score yesterday, so I'd say all of the above.

I've only listened to the recording once or twice. But I do like Nikki James.

Druxy, that bilious color yesterday was named Austin yellow. Have you seen it much there?

The meeting went quite well.  Both of the two students are not young college students.  The man, Ahmed, is from Egypt, was in the Egyptian army, has two, count 'em TWO masters degrees, and is actually going to The Evergreen State College to speak and learn English more properly.  He spoke quickly with a fairly strong accent, but he was certainly understandable.  He and the woman (I forget her name) are in a grant writing class and wanted some real world experience, so we are their project.  They asked some questions, and we answered what we could.  There will be some e-mail exchanges and the process will continue.  Hopefully, it'll all work out for us and them!

Interesting George, thanks for telling us about your meeting.

Bruce, my sympathy on the loss of your friend.  It doesn't matter when we hear sad news, it is new to us as is the pain.

My retirement to-do is scheduled for next Thursday at my favorite local restaurant.

I didn't want a to-do and said as much many times.  I was told it didn't matter what I wanted but that "they" wanted the to-do for me.

Oh, well.  I never pass up a great meal, especially when someone else is paying.

I never doubted you would have a to-do.  Your office seems to enjoy doing these, so enjoy it :)

Keith suggested the color was named for the person who created the car color, vs for an actual city of Austin yellow.

12 members of my book group gathered at Katie's last night for a potluck dinner and to discuss A Man Called Ove and watch the movie.  We usually do this in August, but Katie will be out of town then and she has the best house for it.

What seven-letter word reads the same way frontwards and backwards?  (A palindrome, naturally).
