And hooray for the no miking. (Spellcheck tried to change that to no miming. And hooray for that, too. )

No.  It's worse.  Because in my humble (and brief) experience, Texas is a humid son of a bitch.

Even though the actual Deep South is overall probably worse than Texas in that respect.  I'll give it that.

I think it depends on the section of Texas you're in, but we've been humid lately.

In London there's a Bob Dylan jukebox play with music called Girl from the North Country and it sounds wonderful. Two of my favorite Brit actors, Shirley Henderson and Ciaran Hinds, neither of whom I knew could sing, are in it along with Jim Norton from the Finian's Rainbow Elmore worked on. I wanna go to London to see it.

Of course, I did my parody lyric based on the reviews to tune of "Blowin' In the Wind" in the comments under the NY Times review.

I think it depends on the section of Texas you're in, but we've been humid lately.

I've only been in the Dallas region and have experienced a few high-90s days there which were definitely a bit of a challenge but not the worst thing I've ever known  I've always imagined Houston to be pretty bad.  I also imagine the western regions (Marfa) to be more desert-like, and Lubbock-Amarillo somewhere in between?  I have, of course, no idea what I'm talking about.

Hey guys - once again, my errant and truant-ness abounds, but something always brings me back here.

I'll need some excellent vibes and xylophones..... and maybe a marimba as well....

My oldest and best friend, Judy, has been been dealing with Achalasia and recently had surgery.  The surgery was long overdue and was a bit complicated, but she made it through and was on her way to recovery.  However, between the malnutrition (from not being able to keep food/liquids down for months) and the anesthesia from the surgery, her memory has not been great = but it's getting better, I'm told.   Anyhow - last night, she ended up in the ER with a high fever which has turned out to be pneumonia.

Judy is 75, we've known each other for almost 30 years, she's been my right hand man at church (2 parishes now) for almost that long, we've travelled, hiked, spent endless evenings just talking, etc... truly a best friend.  I was very positive that she would pull through the Achalasia issue, but now with the pneumonia, I've went into worry mode.

Everything else is fine.  DD's are fine, etc.    Love you all.

I love Jim Norton!  He is a true gentleman,  Just a darlin' man, as Sean O'casey would say.

I am almost finished with my NYMF work, about two hours at most to go, so I sent the composer a request for the song transposed to the new key.  It's in my hands now, so everything's covered.  Much as I'd like a day off before the hell of a long day on Monday (9:00am-Lord knows when), we must do what we can.
