DR FJL your new musical sounds very good - just the thought of it stirs several emotions!

Then Rob took Joshie and me to the West Bank Cafe where we celebrated The New Yorkers and the 92nd Street Y Lerner and Loewe show.  The dinner was quite wonderful, and we had nearly three hours of food food and drink, laughs, and dish.  Our pretty blonde waitress Kimberly had worked with Joshie in the Irish Rep's Finian's Rainbow this year, and  she had recently auditioned for Rob for the Encores! Brigadoon this fall.

DR Elmore -- I was reminded yesterday when shuffling some things around that there are two lovely cartons of Vernors here with your name on them.

Let me know when you can accept a gentleman caller.  Once I know my rehearsal schedule for next week, I'll be happy to drive them down if that works for you.

At 9:00 we left the West Bank, they got me into a taxi, and I rolled home.  A fantastic day!

And this morning I am overdrawn,  Where is that damned final Guys & Dolls payment?

Today is of course the last day of my chemo pill/radiation combo.....a few days off, and then on the chemo infusion.

BIG THANKS for the continued HHW Vibes!

We could not let you go through this alone!

Why, thank you, sir!  I think my only bad day next week is Wednesday.  As you well know, most of my days are dictated by the workings of the building's elevator

West Bank Cafe sounds wonderful.

We began with the burrata and roasted artichokes, and we all had the crab cakes.  Also, side orders of broccoli rabe and the truffle mac'n'cheese. For dessert we shared the apple crostada and a wonderful strawberry ce cream combo.

We had a heck of a storm here last evening. I had two inches of rain in the rain gauge when it was over. Lots of damage nearby, but we didn't have any that I found.

T.O.D.

I've got a few things recorded (e.g. THE MAJOR AND THE MINOR), so we'll probably watch one or more of them.

Last night, we watched ALIAS NICK BEAL.

Great atmosphere and performances, but it ran too long and got a bit silly.   ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER handled this kind of "sell your soul to the Devil" material so much better.

I loved reading the notes about the new song and the visit with the Shermans.  Good news about the Sherman/Kimmel evening in October....that would be fun to attend!

My thought exactly.

I doubt I'll get to watch much of anything this weekend with my leaving for Louisville on Sunday. But I want to finish listening to Wally Lamb's I'll Take You There.

Thanks, Jrand!

Marian and I are hopeful that the producer's suggestions will make the show better and not just different, but I'm reminded of the line "What comes first for a new musical - the music or the words?"  and the only partly-kidding answer "The funding."  So the producer must be respected.

Friday afternoon greetings!  We were outta here early for Richard's routine doctor appointment, including a fasting blood draw.  We then went to Northstar Cafe for a nice breakfast, which for me included a nosebleed on the side  :P

I recovered quickly enough to enjoy my breakfast and a second cup of coffee.  A quick stop at Target and now we're home waiting to see if the weather clears up for this evening's First Friday festivities in downtown Middletown.

Correction, it was only a record breaking 103 degrees-oops, no that was in 2012.  We just broke that record ;D
