Topic of the Day:  watching on my DVR right now:  the second of the last three episodes of "Emerald City."  This episode was broadcast on February 24, but I didn't take the time to watch it.  The series was cancelled shortly after the season ended.  Only one episode left then it's all over for me.

And during these two episodes that I watched were commercials for other shows that have already been cancelled.

Last night I got drowsy while reading and ended up napping for about an hour and a half right in the middle of the evening.  When I went to bed I was still a little sleepy, but thanks to the nap I laid there awake for two or three hours.  So now I once again feel greatly in need of more sleep.  I'll lie back down in a bit and try for another nap, a productive one this time.

I'm afraid I have nothing else to report.  My TOD is empty, as I haven't had time or haven't been in the mood to seek out anything in particular to watch or listen to.

Oh -- I will be going to see DUNKIRK this evening for sure.

This is a busy traditional (original) Imax connected to Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium, and they run the typical Imax nature/science/travel features through the day.  When they have the occasional feature film in Imax it only gets an evening showing, so DUNKIRK is at 7 pm, and on weekends they add another at 9:30 pm.

Prior to arriving for the showing, I'm stopping at the aforementioned Barnes & Noble -- speaking of which, I just got an email announcing a one-week extension to the Criterion sale.  Instead of ending Monday the 7th, it'll now continue through Monday the 14th.  I love it when they do that.

Speaking of Imax, etc., I found this informative:

I will never go to one of those 4DX things.  Not ever.  Not to try it even once.  No interest at all.

I can tolerate and enjoy the occasional Disney attraction such as "Star Tours" that puts you through that, and more, for all of several minutes.  But even the thought of watching a feature-length film with your chair moving and water and smells and stuff coming at you... are you kidding me?  If that's what the kiddies go for these days, then go ahead and sell it to them.  But I call bullshit on it.

Yesterday was a wonderful day.  The NYMF show went well, and there was a nice crowd for it.  I took my two Backbeard books to the performance and the author, who's also one of the show's writers, signed them and added some original artwork.

Joshie, Rob Berman, and our friend Eric Dietz came to the performance. They were all complimentary about the cast, staging and the orchestrations.  Rob asked if we ever had a children's audience for this children's musical.  I'm hoping tomorrow's 10:30 performance plays to a higher percentage of children.  The play is very funny, and Joshie laughed a lot.

I loved reading the notes about the new song and the visit with the Shermans.  Good news about the Sherman/Kimmel evening in October....that would be fun to attend!
