OH MY - the King Lear DVD is almost $200!

Another reason I love the library.

Good idea.  My local library isn't huge, but if I can trust the online catalog, it looks like that one's there.

And if your specific library doesn't have it, they might be able to get it for you through Interlibrary Loan.  Hopefully, that's an option.

  • Have a REALLY nice day!

I started to watch Logan last night. It wasn't at all like the other X Men movies I had seen and turned it off after about 15 minutes.

Anyone here seen the movie? Opinions?

I've only seen the very first three X-Men movies and none of the Wolverine movies. :-\ I guess I'm a Marvel Universe fan.

;)

Yes it is very different from the others.  I still liked it very much.

Well, I'm off to my parents' house for dinner.  I won't stay too late (actually, we don't usually), but when I get home, I'll have to go to bed early because I'll need to be up and ready to go by 5:00 am, for my trip to Portland!  But before then, it's dinner. ;)

Be back later.

Had a productive run-through, made adjustments to the show order, fixed some musical stuff, and then did a two-and-a-half mile jog.

Evening all!  Vibes to all who need them.  Special vibes to DR JRand and DR Ginny.  Vibes of peace and comfort.

Not much to report today.  I heard there was another job fair but it was quite far away and I just didn't feel like driving that far and wasting my gas.

I did see an ad for work at home customer service reps for Apple.  I went to their website and saw it was true so I dropped an application to them.

They supply a computer and headset and pay part of your internet bill so it's possible that it could work.  Anyway, I took the first step, we will see where it leads.

Today was the closing day for the Tax Collector job and that's what I have my fingers double crossed for because they are part of the FRS (Florida Retirement System).  I know the soonest I will hear anything will be sometime next week.

Excellent dream, Vixmom. Most vivid. What kind of motorcycle was Peter Dinklage driving?

I don't know from motorcycles. But it was a regular on not one of the banana seat, high handlebar ones.  It was black and Peter was wearing a black leather jacket and had a beard

Last night I watched my close personal friend Sir Ian McKellen's performance of King Lear.  It's quite wonderful, and I really liked the cast.  The Fool leaves the performance after Lear is sent ny Gloucester to Dover to join Cordelia and the French army.  Shakespeare bever accounts for this disappearance or what became of the character, but it's always been assumed by scholars that the same actor also played Cordelia and he had to change costume.  Trevor Nunn's production, which refuses to ignore the ugliness and violence in the play, offers a solution: Cornwall's men hang him, which mirrors Cordelia's death by hanging at the end of the play.

I've seen nasty Gonerils ands Regans but the two actresses in this production really play up their very open lust for the handsome villain Edmund and their ugliness to everyone else, including each other.  Cinderella's stepsisters have nothing on these two. The last act, with the deaths of Goneril, Regan, Edmund, Cordelia and Lear, is littered with corpses.

DR elmore do you have a fever?

No.  When I called my doctor from Joshie's office, I was sweaty but cool.  I told the phone person that I was clammy.

Food poisoning?

The only other news I have is that David and I have moved from texting to talking on the phone.  I think we spoke for about 2 hours last night. He sounds like a very nice man. The 3 hour time difference is a pain.  It was midnight before I went to bed and then I couldn't sleep.

I confess, I'm liking him.  He sends me a poem every morning and I get a text sometimes during the day when he's at work because he says I'm on his mind.  Now we text or talk on the phone every evening. I'm hoping he is for real and not a cat fish.  Lord knows I've had my share of them but they were easy to spot.  This one is very different and I get a different vibe from him.

Today was very therapeutic for me.  I had 2 great classes, one for making a beautiful album that I need to finish here at home and the other a technique class on using Ranger Distress Oxide Inks.  In the first class I won a door prize and in the second everyone got a fabulous swag bag at the end.  My phone only rang twice during the morning class.  The first call was the funeral home secretary calling about adding the street address of the church.  The second was my cousin Dan who lives in Japan but is currently in Long Beach, CA, with a group of students from the university where he teaches.
