I've been to market, and I will shortly go to the bank. I need to assemble the things I'm taking to Ohio and tidy the apartment once I'm packed.

It hasn't rained 40 days and 40 nights, but the sight of a rainbow this morning on my way to work was welcome.

Elmore, Kaye Ballard was in that movie.

And Kelly Brown!  He was a City Ballet dancer who was a featured dancer in the Leroy Anderson musical Goldilocks; there's footage of him with Pat Stanley in the "Lady-in-Waiting" ballet.  His daughter Leslie played Shirley MacLaine's daughter in The Turning Point and Mrs Nijinsky in Nijinsky.  She's Herb Ross' goddaughter.

I saw this around 1998 and really liked it.

And Kelly Brown was also one of the suitors in 7 Brides for 7 Brothers and had a featured role in Daddy Long Legs.....

I think THE GIRL MOST LIKELY was also the last movie to be released under the RKO RADIO PICTURES banner......  Jane Powell once claimed to have made a movie that closed down the studio....

The outgoing treasurer (Ann) for Middletown Current Events Club and the incoming treasurer (me) met at the bank this morning to add my signature to the club checking account.  It took way longer than it should have, but now it's done.  Ann is finishing cancer treatment and her sister died about a week before my Mom.  We are both trying to pick up some things we'd put on the back burner...

Yes, he was excellent. I didn't know he was related to Leslie Brown. She was wonderful in Turning Point. Gosh, I have seen that movie since high school. I can still remember a lot of it.

Speaking of Billy Wilder and Irma la Douce, today is the birthday of my friend Elizabeth Seal, the original London and Broadway Irma.

The late Roderick Cook introduced me to her around 1985 or so in a coffee shop on Sixth Avenue and 48th Street, as I recall.  He was such a wonderful kind man, and I had been a fan of his since the recording of Oh, Coward!  I was privileged to work with him several times.

Dis-donc is a joy because Ms. Seal is so full of life. Great go-to song when I'm feeling depressed.

Now I want to hear that again.

I think it is, but the eyebrows are wrong and she's not phrasing the song as she did on the London and Broadway cast albums.
