Still a bit down today....but it's better than yesterday....so what do you want - egg in your beer?

My grandfather used to say that, and I still don't know what it means.

;D  I am glad there is some improvement.

Very funny lyrics, Fred!  And the other person's, too!

Four days until vacation. Can't come soon enough.

Are you going good someplace or staying home and resting?

I'm headed to Sarasota, Fla. for a week.

Have fun and stay dry.

I saw notifications that people laughed at something I said on facebook under a topic.  Hmmmm????   I opened it to see what I wrote to find that Keith had hacked my account again   :D :))

Bruce it is on Ericka's Martinizing conversation.  If you saw it I expect you would know Keith wrote it-lol

Skip gave me some notes on my Telephone Hour parody, so I went back and changed it.

My take on it was a lot more subtle:

Tune of “The Telephone Hour”  (from Bye Bye Birther, I mean, Bye Bye Birdie)

[snippets of many overheard calls]

“Hi, Charlie!”    “Hi, Teddy!”
“What the rumor, Mr. Schumer?”
“What’s the news, Mr. Cruz?
Tell me quick about Dotard and Kim.”

“Hi Alan!”      “Hi Benjy!”
“Hey what’s crankin’, Mr. Franken?”
“Will this  pass, Mr. Sasse?
Tell me quick about Dotard and Kim.”

Is it true about Kim?
Is there fury and fire?
Are the prospects real grim?
Is the outlook real dire?
So what’s new about Kim?  (Uh huh)
Should I make out a will?
Are our chances real slim?  (It’s OK.)
How’s the tax reform bill?

Are they steady?  Are they steady?
Getting ready for some no-good?
Donald’s mad at Kim,
Kim is mad at him!

When our goose is cooked, then we’re really cooked
What ya gonna do?  What ya gonna do?
Are they steady?  Are they steady?
Oh yeah!

Fun stuff, Fred.

Went to Third Generation for lunch.  It's a "downtown Johnston" eatery that is open Wednesday through Sunday.  I had fried catfish, mixed greens and grits!  Also, a piece of cornbread.   Was very tasty.

I am being extremely lazy this week.  Yes, I've done stuff and I drive every place we go.  We are having some hot days, too.  And humidity.  Have I mentioned the humidity before?

Sigh.

They are very sweet, Elmore. I hope you are able to get your kitten soon. I think you need to see which one picks you out.

I've been looking at kitten on this site all afternoon!
https://www.petfinder.com/pet-search?location=10024&animal=cat&breed=&age=baby&filtersUpdated=true&distance=10&name=

There are some nice cats there.  I hope if you do get a cat you are sure it is affectionate and not one that hides under the bed.

I think I got to the Lonely Goatherd parodying first, way back in the late nineties with What If Rodgers and Hammerstein, instead of writing The Sound of Music had written Assassins.

High on a hill stood a lone assassin
Layee-Oh-De-Layee-oh-de-layeehoo
He shot the Pres while the Pres was passing'
Layee-Oh-De-Layee-oh-de-loo
Oh, oh, did you hear a gunshot
Oh, oh, from the grassy knoll
Oh, oh, was there only one shot
Well, why don't we take a poll

etc.

Listening to a couple of other old Bay Cities releases that I may try and clean up and issue - two in particular are so wonderful and I think Chris Malone could really help them.

For the first night this week, I got a lot of sleep.  My leg is behaving this morning, no pains, no unsteadiness, so we'll see how the day goes.

I'm glad to hear it. My view is that no matters what ails you you need to sleep well. I hope the progress continues.

DR Jeanne, Jo had applied for work with the Madison school system.  There were two (I think) positions in the cafeteria that interested her, and I'm happy that she beat out the competition.

I hope she's happy with the job and finds it fulfilling.
