T.O.D.

Wow.  That is a tough one.  I will have to think about that.

Perhaps a WIZARD OF OZ poster signed by Judy Garland, Ray Bolger, Jack Haley, Bert Lahr, and Margaret Hamilton.

Walking vibes for John G.

I guess it's fortunate you can dance without pain, since that's probably good for your overall health.

My book, HOLLYWOOD SNAPSHOTS: The Forgotten Interviews, is finally available on Kindle.

It contains my exclusive interviews with Jack Oakie, Claire Trevor, John Carradine, Ann Miller, Paul Henreid, Gale Sondergaard, Howard Keel, Yvonne DeCarlo, David Janssen, Mary Pickford, members of "The Little Rascals" cast, and many other actors, directors, producers and song writers.

Many of the often shocking things they said to me never made print...until now.

TOD

Something from Fred Astaire, like the top hat memorabilia that they make fun of at the beginning of The Band Wagon

The chair Frederick Egerman sits in during a brief scene of Smiles of a Summer Night. The back is covered with an image of a virgin with unicorn and is just beautiful.

T.O.D.

I certainly couldn't afford the real one, but like you BK, I do have that nice copy of The Maltese Falcon statuette in my home, as well as a copy of the "Rosebud" snow globe from CITIZEN KANE.

The one thing that I wish 20th Century-Fox would make available is an affordable copy of the portrait of Gene Tierney from LAURA.  I'd buy one of those.

The elevator at this moment is running, so Annabelle and I are looking forward to seeing our DR ChasSmith today.  Bring your camera!

When I went out to check on the elevator, Annabelle sneaked out behind me.  She had been raving because both her dry and wet food dishes were empty.  She must have pigged out between 10PM and 7:30AM vecause she's never eaten all that food before.  I hope she isn't pregnant.

So, as I was preparing her food, I kept hearing her mewing but I couldn't figure out why she wasn't underfoot.  I finally realized she was in the hall and let her in.  The fact that she came back bodes well if she ever gets out again.

I slept well until 5:30 or so.  Annabelle decided to leave her bed, which sits at the foot of my bed, and crawl in with me.  My left leg, even with the Advil, is too jumpy for me to lie in one position for a long time, and when she crawls under the covers and curls up at my knee, I have to be careful that I don't injure her when I change position.

DR JohnG, if you're going to have good results from your therapy, I think you'll feel it a day or two after.  After my therapy bouts, I was usually in pain for a good day.

I must get ready to leave soon, as I'm meeting a lady in the city who (so I hear) has her way with all the guys.

I have a question for those of you who are more familiar with the backstage gossip of Broadway than myself.

Considering his roles in OKLAHOMA!, KISS ME KATE and KISMET, I've always considered Alfred Drake to be one of the great talents on the Broadway musical theater.  However, as I recall, when I was more active in the business, whenever his name came up, it was greeted with a scowl or a brief nasty remark with no explanation.

So, my question is "Why?".

Was he considered to be an a**hole among his fellow workers, or what?

I'm not writing a book about him.  I've just always been curious about that reaction.
