Yesterday I was feeling run down and a bit sniffly and I woke up during the night with a raging sore throat.  To whom do I complain?

PayPal, of course.

Social Tees has sent me two emails, so I guess my application to adopt Sir Rivington is now in process.

Rachel Kelly, who's one of the leads on my recordings of Eileen and Dearest Enemy, has a major role in Glyndebourne's Cosi Fan Tutte.  I am so happy her career is going so well.  I do love her.

TOD:
My current residence. Mark and I moved into this house almost 15 years ago. Before that the longest I lived anywhere was eight years. My parents tended to move around a lot.
Druxy, I lived in a condo in Calabasas for five years. I loved it, but also felt I moved out just in time. It was sandwiched between two big grassy hills and was a huge fire hazard. Sure enough, a year after we moved, those hills caught fire and everyone in those condos had to be evacuated. The condos didn't burn, thank goodness, but I was so glad not to endure the stress of evacuating, trying to figure out which items to take, and worrying about losing everything else.

Thursday morning greetings!  Fr. Richard left early this morning for an all-day church synod that's followed by a banquet, so he'll be away until sometime this evening.  Mary Linda's going to the ladies' luncheon that's part of the synod, Rob's going to work, and I'm going to do errands.  ML and I have to be home by 3pm, because her godson/my great-nephew J-dub is being dropped off here to keep us company for the evening.

Can’t blame you for not missing that kind of stress.

TOD - Current residence for me, too.  We celebrated our 29th anniversary in this house on June 7.  When we bought it, I said it was my "forever house" and that they'd carry me out feet first.

DR Jrand67 brings up an equally interesting question:  Since phone numbers have always been able to follow you around to some extent, what phone number have you had for longest time?

I've lived in this house since it was built 23 years ago, way longer than whatever took second place.

My landline number is still the one I got when I moved from the west coast in 1989, so, 28 years.  My cell number holds second place, at 15 years.  This might take a little research, but I don't think I ever had any previous phone number for more than maybe 5 years at the most.

T.O.D.

I lived in my Calabasas condo for 22+ years.

I kind of miss it, but I was lucky to move out when I did.

I missed having to pay the $40K judgement (That would have been my portion) when the condo association lost the lawsuit against the construction firm that did the repairs after the 1994 (?) earthquake.

If the condo association sued the construction firm, what was the judgment against the condo association for?  Did they have to pay attorney fees or something like that?

We were in our Ashland home for 18 years.  The only house that came close to that was my childhood home.  I celebrated my 4th birthday there and moved out when I was 18, so about 14 1/2 years.

We were in our Pennsylvania home for 5 1/2 years, and about 5 years in our second Michigan home.  A couple of our homes we were only in for 1 year.  New Jersey & Massachusetts were each 2 years.

TOD: We were newlyweds when we moved into this house in 1980 -- so 37 years. Now we are the old retirees on the block.

I'm back from my errands, Mary Linda's back from her luncheon, and the house is as toddler-proofed as it's going to get.

It’s a good thing, a very good thing, that there’s nothing I have to do today.

Well, there are a thousand things waiting for my attention.  As always.  But I can afford to blow them off today.

One of my favorite quotes (I have no idea who said it, though):  "Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow?"

Back from a perfectly wonderful Ethiopian lunch. Lots of veggies, a spicy (but not hot) beef stew.
