Dinner was really nice. There was a great corn casserole/souffle as well as the usual Thanksgiving foods. Loved the cranberry sauce that Jay made.

The pecan pie was good, but I want to play with the recipe a little. People liked it, they said, because it wasn't too sweet. In fact, they ate all but one slice.

I might add some cayenne or jalapeno next time. I think a little after kick would be good. I really like jalapeno pecan brittle.

Definitely bourbon instead of vanilla. And while I liked full pecan halves, I might do a coarse chop to make things easier to slice in the future.

The corn casserole sounds good.

Bourbon goes well with pecans.  I am glad your pie was a hit.

I think corn casserole is a Texas or at least a San Antonio thing. A lot of people make it for dinners and potlucks here.

Watching Dean Jones in a one-man show called St. John in Exile. Good work from Jones, but the writing could be a little better.

And had oven browned potatoes to go with it.  Soaked  potatoes with beef broth and them let them cook as long as the meatloaf did

Nice photo DR GEORGE.

Thanks, Jrand!  I did not play BK and Richard Sherman's song this evening.  It's been many years since I even plunked notes on it, and as far as I can remember, it has never been tuned...at least, not since we moved to Olympia from Colorado in 1976! :-\

I'm showered, dressed and waiting for the family.  I took this picture of my very own piano. :D

Nice, and how did you post it?  I thought we don't have photobucket anymore.

We don't...for the most part.  It still works for posting for some people.  I don't know why.  But anyone can still use it to just store pictures online.  Anyway, I posted my picture in HHW's "Attachments and other options" link in the "Reply" (not "Quick Reply") box.

There was very little here in Tumwater, but my mom said that in Lacey, they got "a lot" this morning.

How was your family dinner?

It was fine.  My dad and I had hamburgers and my mom, sister and niece had stir-fry with shrimp.  We played Phase 10 and I came in 3rd (out of 5).
