I captured Thatch after a rousing game of fishie on a pole lured him out of hiding.  I held him, petted him for a long time, which he seemed to like, then took him into the bathroom and cleaned the gunk from his eyes with a wet cotton ball.  I wish I had some baby saline eye wash.

Then I petted him some more, put the salve on his eyes, and rubbed them gently for a bit. Before I released him, I held him, petted him, rubbed his little belly, and let him go.  He ran for the food.  I think eating consoles him.

He's getting braver.  Last night, just before I turned off the lights, he climbed up on my computer table, where he's seen Annabelle holding court daily, sniffed about it before he jumped down.  This morning, both of them climbed onto my work table, played with my various pencils and erasers, and wrote some orchestration that I had to revise later, before they went on to the window to watch the birds and the snow.

I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep - I woke up at five with an upset tummy, so just played on the computer for a couple of hours while it settled down.

DR JRand67, I saw this and thought of you!

That brings to mind seeing Elvis Presley in CLAMBAKE  (on a double feature with WITH SIX YOU GET EGGROLL)

My produce box for this week had 16 yellow squashes. So I made a big cheesy casserole. That will go nicely with the spam.

Our train ride with Santa was a lot of fun.  He and J (age 2 1/2) had a very serious conversation.  We even had our first significant snowfall to create just the right atmosphere.

DR GINNY I am glad you had a good time - but being trapped on a train with children and Santa Claus is my idea of a NIGHTMARE!

I put the artwork and preliminary info on our VIVA MAX! reading through Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) on my blog.  Hoping people from here can come if in NY area, and/or please let people know who might be interested (and of course feel free to share the link).  (Admission is free, but TRU requires reservations.).

VIVA MAX!  - Staged Reading at:
The Actor’s Temple Theatre
339 West 47th Street (between 8th & 9th)
Monday, January 15, 2018 at 7 p.m.

Remember the Alamo?  Max will make sure you never forget it!  In this new musical comedy-adventure, a young, idealistic Mexican General seeks respect for himself and Mexico by marching his soldiers into Texas in an against-all-odds quest to reclaim the Alamo.  The show is based on Jim Lehrer's rollicking satiric novel set 50 years ago, but the story remains current and passionate on 21st-century matters like immigration, gun control, and respect for foreign people and their cultures.

The skies here are much clearer today, but the air is still extremely dry. I haven't seen an update on the fires today, but we really NEED more humidity.

Well, I think the epidural was really beneficial.  Yesterday, I wasn't sure.  I was in a great deal of pain where the injections occurred, and I was really tired.  I slept last night with no leg pains at all, and I feel my walking is going better today as well.  I hope this optimism continues.

Vibes the progress continues.

This morning I went and picked out a painting. I’d commissioned one a few years back from a friend I had worked with st the Census Bureau. She was down on her luck and I thought she had forgotten about it. Nope. She emailed a few weeks back and I went to pick it out today. It’s like a Dr. Seuss version of San Antonio’s River Walk. It’s huge, too. Three feet by four feet.

Can you post a photo of it?

LOL, DR JRand!  Under normal circumstances it would be mine, too.  Today our party of 8 was all adults except J and we were at the end of our car, kind of away from other groups with more kids.  We hadn’t done this train ride since Rob was a Tiger Cub.  It’s a fun thing to do every 25 years or so...
