From Yesterday:

Fred:

Good luck with Viva Max! When I saw the poster for the evening of Skips's song in February I asked Skip if it was based on the movie of the same name as I didn't know there was a novel.

Catching up from posts from the other day.

DR John G

It goes until the first week of January.

It hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be. Maybe December was the wrong time to do with the holidays coming.

So far so good as far as the leg pains go.  I did not sleep well; too many worries about my next eleven days before Social Security lands in my bank account.

Yesterday I received notice from SS that in January 2018 my payments would be increased by $9.00/month.  Wow!

This afternoon I will attend a Christmas party given by George de Marco and Andy Monroe, the producer and the composer of my NYMF show The Tragic and Horrible Life and Death of the Singing Nun.  I look forward to it.

I need to make the bed, torture the babies with their meds, and find some breakfast.

Much as I bitch about no work, I do have some Encores! work, thanks to Joshie, and How To Succeed . . .  The issue is cash flow, which is a disaster.

Thanks, Michael!

And the movie (which starred Peter Ustinov, John Astin, Jonathan Winters, Pamela Tiffin, Alice Ghostley and many other recognizable folk) had also been based on the Jim Lehrer novel. In one of his talks about the novel, Jim Lehrer has credited the sale of his novel to the movies for having given him and his family the financial freedom to take a chance on a career direction that led to all that happened for him in the TV news business.  Though we've never asked him, I guess that means the amount had to have been  substantial for the late 1960's.

Our musical is based on the novel and not the movie, though, but both the musical and the movie are based on the novel.

I'm watching Thatch and Annabelle sitting very still in the window as their heads move in rhythm to a pigeon strutting across the fire escape.

I have my own Audubon Society.

Annabelle's had her meds, so I have to catch Thatch.  I caught him about an hour ago and washed out his eyes.  City Vet called me, and his refill is ready.  I will pick it up on my way to the party.  Hopefully, this third round will clear up things.  I've been keeping an eye on Annabelle; I don't want her catching this again.

When I get my Social Security payment, they're going back in for checkups.

Driveway is passable, and the sun and sand and salt are making sure it stays that way.  Time for me to start getting ready.

Just remembered something.  I meant to answer this a few weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I never did.

Vixmom:  No, believe it or not, I have NOT yet been to the Texas Roadhouse in Danbury!  But this is the week it happens.  I told Kristi and Nathan that's where they can take me for my birthday -- which isn't till next Friday, but I have shows on the weekend and there's something or other happening on Thursday so we're doing it on Wednesday.  Everybody's schedule is completely nuts this year.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to that, as are they (they haven't been there yet either), and I will have my full report on your desk the next morning.

Annabelle's being very clingy.  After playing on my work table and lying on the papers I'm trying to edit, she seems very happy lying in my arms and watching the world.  I am accomplishing less than I'd like, but I sure do love holding her.

I also found my 1981 BAREFOOT IN THE PARK with Richard Thomas and Bess Armstrong with Barbara Barrie and Hans Conreid and James Cromwell.....which is what I was looking for.....  I don't like Bess much, but everyone else is very good.....I have always liked Richard Thomas in anything....

Sometimes the jokes just write themselves:

MR BK is having a party with 15 tops.

Now that's what I call a PARTY!

I finally cornered Thatch and decided I needed to wash out his eyes again before I could apply the last of the salve.  His right eye is a mess.

It's interesting, it's an unusual case, but somehow I liked Bess Armstrong even more as a TV personality before she got more glamorous.

The first TV show I saw her on and loved her on - "On Our Own" 1977

DR FJL I sort of remember that tv show....but not much.  I think my dislike of her really stems from a movie she made with Tom Selleck in which she was advertised and played as the "hottest thing" on the screen and next "It Girl."  Then again maybe it was just her hairstyle that annoyed me.

Or maybe her work in JAWS 3-D.....of course my dislike of her hasn't affected her career at all......she's been married to producer John Fiedler for 30 years and has two sons....

Well, I'm off.  I'm meeting my friend Margo and her friend Marsha for lunch, then we're going to see "Murder on the Orient Express."  Not my first choice, but it'll get me out of the house.

Be back later!
