To all my Jewish friends on HHW, my wishes for a wonderful holiday!  I wrote this arrangement for a Milken Archive recording of Hanukka music:

Listening now.  Beautiful.

Well, I guess I need to get a start on my day.

I have to "edit" (don't ask) this bass book for two (2) players who are subbing this Friday and Sunday.  And pick up the prescription food for one of the kitties.  And return a traditional holiday phone call to a former workmate in Dallas.  And so much more...

Thatch is medicated and given his Gerber treat.  Next week, when Social Security lands, I will book appointments for him and Annabelle to see how their health is progressing.  I hope that by next week they will be in fine fettle.

Annabelle always makes a big thing over wanting some of my breakfast, climbing all over me, the table, and the food, yet she always turns down the eggs and ham when I offer it.  On the other hand, Garbage Dump Thatch cannot get enough.  He will accept the ham from my hand, come back for more, and let me pet him.  As soon as the food's gone, I become the Big Bad Giant with the eye salve and he runs in terror.

Yet, when I hold him and offer him the Gerbers, before and after the eyes, he cuddles in, and purrs!  My baby is an emotional wreck.

I'm up, I'm up - barely - about four and a half hours of sleep, I think.  Depending on when the visitor arrives I may go back to bed.

As I caught up to them I said to her, what beautiful shoes...are you going to visit someone special?

She nodded her hard so hard I thought it would fall off and the told me "SANTA!"

I looked amazed and asked you mean Santa is here?

Yep and I (really huge emphasis on I) am going to see him!!  She was very proud

TOD

Does ET count?

I'll put that on my list!  I wasn't much of a creature feature fan, but a few years ago I did get and enjoy the original Gojira (but not at those prices!). ???

I am sorry you'll not  see Madagascar....did you say  "plague"?
 :o

Yes, pneumonic plague vs the usual bubonic plague.  The pneumonic is more serious than the bubonic.  Currently it is under control.

That's a very good reason not to stop at Madagascar.

To all my Jewish friends on HHW, my wishes for a wonderful holiday!  I wrote this arrangement for a Milken Archive recording of Hanukka music:
https://soundcloud.com/user5614139/likhtelekh

Here is a translation of the text, since the number is recorded in Yiddish:
Oh, you little candles
You tell stories
Tales on end;
You tell of struggle,
Valor and courage, of
A wondrous past.

When I see you flickering,
A sparkling reverie arises.
An old dream speaks:
“Jew, you warred once;
Jew, you were once victorious.”
God! It seems unbelievable now!...
God! I can hardly believe it!...

“You had a state,
To me you were a nation,
Once you governed:
Once you had a country,
Once you had power!”
Oh, how deep the ache now!

Oh, you little lights!
Your stories
Awaken my pain;
It stirs something deep within my heart,
And with tears it asks:
“What will be now?...

That's really nice.

Do the people at castrecl now about Levi?

Surprisingly (i don't know why I was surprised, since it's BK and Sherman!), there was some discussion of LEVI on Datalounge's Theater Gossip thread of all places.  It was quite respectful, I thought, as respectful as it gets there - certainly of BK's work I thought, an oasis amid all the discussion of expected exposes on harassment in theater and opera.

(I think it was in Theatre Gossip Thread 282 or thereabouts, IIRC.)  Someone there said they saw it twice.

I just tried to search for the LEVI posts on google, but for some reason couldn't find them that way.

I finally figured out who Imelda Staunton looks like in the new British Follies: Krisin Chenoweth as Sally in the revival of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown
