Around 6:30, Thatch decided to follow Annabelle's example and climb up onto my night stand.  Unlike Annabelle's graceful maneuvering, he knocked over my water glass.  That woke me up.

We found mugs with lids worked best.  The lids to keep the cats from drinking our water.  Still, they are occasionally knocked over even by us ;D

LOL, vixmom!  Just saw this post by you from the other day while ketching up:

"have no trouble with sitting upstairs but I insist on being carried up the stairs....
On a litter...
Preferably hoisted by 4 buff, shirtless, young men"

Sorry, vixmom!  we asked for the shirtless young men but the absence of shirts didn't fit the strict costume budget!

During Dress Rehearsal, some of us first discovered by watching from there (what I tried to call the Mezzanine rather than the Balcony but it didn't catch on!), that the acoustics and raked sightlines are great upstairs (to our delight, and as we'd indeed been promised!)

While the downstairs is not raked at all.

At my advanced age, I don't enjoy the staircase going up (and also going down) there and found the seats as small as 2010's Broadway seats. And of course downstairs seats have "prestige" while upstairs does not, as our agent reminds us -

That once you're upstairs and settled into the seat, it felt better than mid to rear orchestra, to me anyway.

Thank you so much, Jrand!

vixmom and KevinH - from what you know, don't you agree that Jrand would be a great "Presidenet LBJ"

And if we ever get done in Washington State and have some casting pull, there's a choice of choice stuff for TCB,

and former (?) DR PennyO in the part brilliantly essayed last night by BK's one-time co-star Maureen Silliman assuming no budget to fly Maureen out?

Sadly, nothing in Viva Max! that seems right for George  :(   though other shows of ours have stuff that would look good for him in his new svelte splendor. :)

I'd really love to see BK one day do the (surprisingly out-of-nowhere show-stopping, how did that happen?) Neal Mayer track that includes playing Jim Lehrer, if we ever did L.A. and had any casting control.

Which "casting control" Skip just told me we will never have unless we're financing the event - which sadly we now can't.

We had real direct say over the 2006 Last Starfighter reading casting; the director had chosen the couple 'Alex" and "Maggie" by way of Seattle, and the director approved BK for "Otis on Earth/Grig in space" - but back then, life was different and three people had actual "out-of-town travel costs" budgeted for - which IIRC was paid for by using our very own apartment for several rehearsals to pay for it, rather than paid-for rehearsal space.

I am very happy to hear that Viva Max! went well last night.

Yes indeed.  I would like to have joined the par-tay, but that wasn’t in the cards for yesterday.  Best of luck with it going forward, DR FJL.

Thank you, Chas!!!

It is so cold here in Austin.

I just saw a guy's ass freeze off.

It's lying in the middle of the street.

Tuesday morning greetings!  Becky and I had plans to have coffee this morning, but yesterday afternoon postponed until Thursday.  Glad we did, because the temperature was 5o when I would have been leaving.  Two days from now it's supposed to be 30.
