The 50th Reunion Co-ordinator asked me to make a slide show of the deceased members of our class.....she sent me a list.

It's one thing to look at a list, and it is another thing to look at the faces from the yearbook....some I knew had passed, others I had no idea.

And of course, we came close to losing another one last spring.....that's for sure.

Then she asked me to do a class video for the Alumni Banquet that's being held the night after the reunion....and by the way to narrate it live!  So I will be a star on that night.....

Someone is supposed to email me and let me know what is supposed to be in the video, I suppose....otherwise the class of '68 is going to have a video unlike any other class.

Richard Buckley, conductor of Austin Opera, has been fired following accusations of sexual misconduct.  Richard is the son of Emerson Buckley, conductor on THE CRUCIBLE recording.

(I thought I remembered knowing Richard slightly in high school, but it wasn't him, it was his brother Bob who played Harold Hill there when I was playing my first Music Man.)

I have never met Andrew Feinberg, but after reading his comments on a thread about the WSS remake in answer to some of MR BK's comments - I can safely say he is an idiot.

His photos confirm my diagnosis....his arguments are merde....and he never shuts up.

I did read ONE thing on FaceBook that I agree with.....

What is the difference between genius and stupid?  Genius has its limits.

I just spent an hour with the snow shovel and the leaf blower, clearing the thin coating of snow ...  off of the ice.  Probably to no avail.  It's a mess out there, and there's no temperature relief in sight.

We tend to get one of these icy messes every year, but it usually occurs in the earlier storms, like in December.  This time we were right on the fault line (and I know whose fault it was) between rain to the southeast and snow from the northwest.  The thin pink line of Wintry Mix is what killed us.

For the life devoted to the arts that you live, and so many other reasons, you are the definition of "star" all the time, IMHO.

Groundhog Day greetings!  I've been puttering in my craft corner all morning and now Richard and I are getting ready to go grocery shopping.  We're going this evening to a Candlemas service in Dayton where he will deliver the sermon.

I have three-quarters of a chocolate cake to take to my neighbors tonight. It's a good thing I'll be out all day, or else it would be a half. Or less.

The reason I rarely bake anymore is that I am the one eating most of what I bake.

Our class has a roster that is occassionaly updated and emailed out.  Those we know of as having left us are indicated as deceased, sad but nice to know.

Oh, yes, DR JRand!  One is full of washi tape, which I use quite often.  And 2 others have all my embroidery floss and I was pulling colors for a little project the other night.  Since I haven't yet labeled the drawers for content, it's kind of like playing the old game show Concentration to remember what's in which drawer.

Re Groundhog Day:

I want to hear Elmer Fudd sing, “Kill da rodent” to the tune of “Kill da Rabbit.” Six more days of this winter is more than enough.

TOD

I hope to find the time to watch the rest of Le Million and the Chet Baker documentary Let’s Get Lost. I also hope to get past the opening of Levi! And replay the Blitzstein piano concerto.

I have awakened with a fuzzy throat, same as on Dec. 26.  I do hope this clears up and I don't end up sick again.
