If you are an animal lover, please come to Facebook and consider donating to Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Just because a dog (or cat) gets old doesn't mean they have to be abandoned or put down.

Did you see the wonderful story yesterday about the Pennsylvania (I think) woman who was forced to give up a beloved dog when she was 14. Her father didn’t like it. Fast forward seven years, she’s on her own and she goes to adopt a dog. She finds her old dog again. The dog remembered her. The chip matched. The story didn’t say what happened to Dad.

Love stories like that.  Hopefully, the father is rotting in Hell.

Yesterday here in Indiana, there was a man talking about showing SINGIN' IN THE RAIN at a particular venue in Indy.  He said the version he was showing was BETTER than any BluRay or DVD anyone might have.

He said it was an original Technicolor print....but he also said it was a 16mm print.  I thought 16mm prints were dupes....did Technicolor make 16mm prints for theatrical showings....or is this indeed a dupe of some kind?

Asking the DVD Movie Mavens including MR BK.

For DR JOHN G - my ANYTHING GOES story that I heard from a reliable internet source.....

During her fabulous run of the show, Miss Patti LuPone often didn't bother to change her dance shoes for the title number.  She danced with two gentlemen from the ensemble.  After several performances of this, one evening the two gentlemen stepped aside - gestured to Miss PL - and allowed her to do the dance break without tap shoes....

16mm dye transfer prints were off dupe print down negatives, yes, but they could be stunning - I had many, including multiple prints of Singin' in the Rain, and they were better color than the current Blu-ray, which doesn't quite do it for me - but the camera negative may be missing on that title.  But showing 16mm in a normal theater venue is probably not a great idea.

You can blame DR GEORGE and DR TCB for those posts.

I am going to say that I can't go to the bank today because my car is bloched in.

But is it bloched in by nine, count 'em, NINE police cars?

You have me there DR GEORGE - since the crackheads moved from down the street - we have only had one police action in the neighborhood....down the street in the other direction at the other crackhead house.

Annabelle has been acting more strangely than usual for the past two days.  She likes to explore the halls, as you all know, and we did a couple of turns yesterday. Last night, after the cat food guys left, she sat in front of the door, waiting to get out, and loudly mewed over and over.  I wouldn't let her out, but it worries me since I believe cats sense more than we do.  My first thought was, I hope Johnny's all right.  He's my 78+ year-old neighbor who's not in the best of health.

My guess is she just wanted to go for a walk.

Val tells me he saw Johnny yesterday, so I'm hoping that he's okay.  Annabelle and I made our tour of the building.  She sniffed around the fourth floor and refused to leave the door of Apartment 4C, the one above me.  As I kept trying to coax her away, the tenant came out and we spoke briefly.  Even after she was gone, Annabelle didn't want to leave the door.  U finally picked her up and carried her back to 3C.

Isn't that the apartment that has had dogs in the past?  I am guessing something smells interesting there.

We need to go to the grocery and tonight is a discussion of a book I could not finish - Louise Erdrich's The Plague of Doves.  I'm having less and less patience with books that don't really grab me.  As Nancy Pearl says, life's too short to read books you don't enjoy.

I have never not finished a book discussion book, however, I have found I am more likely to read it super fast by skipping parts.

I wasn't thrilled with "Future Home of the Living God".  I think I will stop reading her books.

I wish people would stop sharing photos, along with his name, of the shooter.  I think it only encourages the next shooter.  I am now stating this on the facebook photos.

I did, very moving story.  Your comment about her father gave me a good laugh.

T.O.D.

Books

1) GREEN RIVER RUNNING RED
2) SMALL SACRAFICES
3) THE STRANGER BESIDE ME

4) THE PHANTOM PRINCE
5) THE ONLY LIVING WITNESS

6) MURDER IN BABYLON

The first three books are by Ann Rule.  The third, fourth and fifth are all about Ted Bundy.  The last book is a great book by our own DR Druxy but not really about a serial killer.

Ted Bundy went to my high school.  He sat behind my sister in Homeroom for all three years.
