Thanks, FJL.  Just got here.  Chronically early, as always.

I could even have taken the next train.  Next time.  Note to self.

I’m waiting in line with several hundred people to get into Empty Bowls. The pottery guild donates the bowls and restaurants donate soups, all to raise money to help the homeless. Inflation has hit. The cost of the bowls has gone up $5 to $25 apiece. But they make good presents.

One of my favorite song intros:  I give you - and don't forget to give them back when you're finished with them - the toast of Mayfair... Fraulein Empty Bowls

Ha!

Enjoy Subways. May have to listen to the McGuire Sisters’ version of the show later.

DR ChasSmith, is there a talkback today?  If my friend Jason Buell is there and I'm sure he will be, you and DR vixmom should tell him you are friends of mine,  He is my colleague on Guys & Dolls and How To Succeed . . .

I have no opinion on the Oscars today.....I am not sure I can watch three hours plus of unbridled political rants....warranted but not really needed in that setting....

Can someone tell me exactly what was happening in GET OUT?  I watched it....but I couldn't really figure out what they were doing...their was a warning from a couple of black characters....I don't know.....it was very strange.  It couldn't have helped that I fell asleep.

I read the article at the link from DR GEORGE last night.  Its subject was as insufferable as always.....I was waiting for her to also take credit for the costumes and scenery and stage curtain.....

Box office says they don’t think there is one.  Might he be here anyway?

Yes.  He's the Styne person with the score prep.

Work session is done, now I'm doing an errand, then I'll make some food here and prepare for our partay.  Is there anywhere online I can stream the show for free?

They say you can do it at the ABC site, but I'm not sure how it works.

I think Brian d’Arcy James is sitting right behind the Michigan bench at Madison Square Garden.

Hello.  I'm back from lunch with my friends Dennis and Carol and Carol's 93-year old mother.  We went to Uno Pizzeria.

Some might recall that my "check engine" light went on a couple of weeks ago.  Well, I parked in my friends' driveway, which has an incline, so I put the emergency brake on.   We drove to the restaurant in their car.  When I got back and started driving home I looked and was happy to see it no longer says "check engine!"  Of course, it might be temporary.

I watched  "The Main Event" and have to say I did enjoy it.  There were some really funny bits.

Still no cable, so I hooked up an old rabbit ears to my TV and the picture is great.  Can't miss the Oscars!  (well, at least the first couple of hours).   Oh, just thought of something: if I don't have cable later I can't record the Oscars.  Maybe I should drag out an old VCR.

Kevin, I think you need to have your car checked out. That light can be very serious or it can be nothing. Let's hope it's nothing. But please don't ignore it.

Correction: he’s sitting right behind the CBS announcers.
