Margaret Atwood was wonderful. She read from Alias Grace and The Handmaid’s Tale. She then talked for an hour on everything from adaptations to writing tips.

The organization of the event left a lot to be desired. They sold out of books long before we got near the booth and she would only sign books sold there. (I have an autographed copy of Oryx and Crake from her last visit here.) also, they said they had given out so many tickets that there was going to be a simulcast next door. But there were hundreds of empty seats.

I upped my fitbit goal to 20,000 steps. If I walked as much as Jane does, I'd be thin like she is.

Maybe.

Probably not.

I still have mine set for 10,000 steps.  Good luck reaching your daily goal.  Sometimes I take 3 walks to reach it or do a lot of marching around inside.

Aren't you all THRILLED to have re-lived those millstones with me?

I am impressed you actually captured them.

Difficult morning, hoping afternoon will be better.  One of our singers can't come due to illness - hopefully she'll be fine on Saturday.

Healthy Vibes for the singer .

vixmom, is it as roomy as your 54 Below seat(s)?  :)

I am.starting to believe I must change my deodorant,   first I get an entire table to myself at 54 below and now I have an entire row to myself

Fun second rehearsal and fun dinner at Casa Vega and I got a book report on GEE from twelve-year-old Peyton - it is now her favorite book - supplanting the Kritzer books.  Now lest you think this is a one-off thing, this kid reads ten to fifteen books a year, sometimes more.  And she was very detailed about what she loved - quoting dialogue, sequences - it made her cry and it made her laugh, and it was all delightful to hear.  I told her to write an Amazon review :)

This is indeed delightful.

Little Peyton posted her review - so sweet, but if you want the title and its meaning to be a surprise don't read it until you get the book. :)

Well, I need to leave work now.  I'm going to go shopping with my sister because she hates to go alone...and I guess no one else can go with her tonight. ::)

;)

Be back later.

So tonight, I went shopping with my sister.  We first went to Costco, initially just to look around, but then on a whim, I decided to get a new TV.  They had a 49" LED TV for only $299.99 (plus tax)!  I bought it for my bedroom because even though I have a working TV up there, it's only (only ;) ) a 27" CRT TV and very heavy, and $299.99 (plus tax) is a great price.  Also, I just wanted a new TV...so I bought it.
