Today, I'm going to my sister's house for our weekly family dinner. I'll need to leave by 5:45 pm so that I can usher for the a cappella contest downtown. Also, my cousin and his wife are coming up to visit from southern Oregon (they'll be staying at my sister's) because he has a job interview on Monday. Hopefully, they'll get here before I have to leave, but I'll definitely see them on Sunday, and maybe Monday night.

Thatch and Annabelle are both acting up this morning: he wants Da Bird, she wants a building patrol. They gave the birds next to no attention.

Last night, we watched TOO MUCH, TOO SOON, the film based on Diana Barrymore's autobiography. Not a great movie, but:

Errol Flynn certainly steals the picture with his performance of John Barrymore. It's a shame that, when he was younger, he was not given the opportunity to do more serious roles that would allow him to demonstrate his true acting abilities.

I also was impressed with Dorothy Malone's performance as Diana. It's probably her best screen role.

Well, my T-shirt now has a large hole in it. Annabelle wanted to patrol the halls and I thought, since I needed to take things to the recyclable bins, that I'd force Annabelle to confront her fears about the new elevator. As soon as she let me know she was tired of patrolling, I picked her up, carried her back to 3 and called the elevator. I held her close to my chest with my left hand and the garbage in my right. As soon as the doors opened she panicked and tried to get out of my grasp. During her attempts to escape and, failing that, a climb up to my shoulder, she ripped the hell out of my T-shirt.

We rode to the basement and she patrolled the laundry room while I sorted the recyclable items. She does not like the basement: too many scents and possibly too many ghosts. The ride back up went quite peacefully. She sat quietly in my arms and looked all around the space with quiet curiosity. When we got back to the apartment, Thatch was waiting at the door to get out. He's not ready for the Big World yet.

Since I'd taken care of her wanting to go out - she's now sleeping in her amazon box - I had a fast round with Thatch and Da Bird. Then I dragged out the fishie on a pole and he was dancing about on his back legs. I wish I'd had the forethought when our DR ChasSmith was here to play more with Thatch for more Ninja Cat shots and to get a few of Annabelle on patrol.

Oy! The time change IS this weekend. Tonight! I just can't get used to how they moved both of these. They were "right" before. Now, even after however many years, they're not.

It's like when they move such things as the Academy Awards or the Superbowl. I don't care about the latter, and I still resent the change!
