Posting from the car place, where the issue with the air conditioning will hopefully be resolved quickly and not too expensively.

Good luck!

Jane - it was a chocolate cake from the Little Pie Shop.  Not as good as when Skip makes a cake, but a really good choice.

They say it serves 4.  That's what "they" say.  At least on a Birthday after a day of concern and then relief, the cake served 2!

;D

I have been craving chocolate cake lately.  I have now just eaten it vicariously and the craving is gone.  Thank you.

Hopefully the stupid orphans who have been marking their gymnastic tricks since we started rehearsal will actually DO THEM tonight....they run from one side of the stage to the other and do a little hop....TA DA!

As one smart aleck said when (I think) he heard a criticism of the orphans in the non-Equity OLIVER:  I would bring the behavior of the orphans up with their parents, but well, you know,,,

Stretching the TOD, but on the subject of "unsung actors"  :)  - with Diana Rigg getting a Tony nomination in a Musical without singing or dancing at all.  And still stuck on the joys of "Show Me"

I heard a rumor (not really) they may add a number for Diana Ms. Rigg to sing after the curtain call for while the Tony voters are there, if Alan Jay Lerner OKs it.

Tune of “Show Me" again

Notes, notes, notes, yes they hit those notes
Yes, I know dear Renée
Has a perfect high A.
This isn’t the Met, it’s Broad-way!

No solo turn, nor a duet
Still I should get - Tony!

Haven’t you heard all the acclaim
Just call my name - Tony!

Here I am with notices that worship and adore
I may not sing, but how I score.
Holding it against me that the mother has no song
That’s sexist, ageist and wrong!

Don’t give me cash, don’t give me bling
Give me one thing – Tony! Tony!
I’m not too proud, I’ll take a tie.
Let's Rigg the voting somehow.
Tony now!

Beautiful, Fred. Diana Rigg has been a favorite since the other Avengers (the good one).

Photographic evidence.

Three happy campers at Hello, Dolly!
I'm seated next to friend Brad who directed our I Do! I Do! and composed/authored/directed Wreck the Halls.

Edit:  Um, sorry about the hand. Selfies are NOT my specialty.

We were totally happy with our TDF seats, which not only were together but were good 3rd row mezzanine seats. Just a few seats closer to center would have been perfect. But for our $47 gamble? Wonderful!

Well, I had a free small chocolate ice cream cone at Baskin-Robbins using a coupon from Keith's birthday.
I then had some See's candy.   I am sure that helped satisfy my chocolate cake craving.

Nice photos DR Chas.  Your selfie expression is relaxed, so many selfie photos are simply odd looking.

I plan to spend my day doing as little as possible.  Since the weekend, I've had bad ains in my left side between my shoulder and hip.  I thought I might have pulled a muscle toting 40 lbs of kitty litter, but now I'm wondering if I could have a kidney infection.  So, I'll work on How To Succeed . . . for a bit, mail my apartment lease renewal for the next two years, continue my dealings with my HMO over a lost payment, and lie about with the kitties.

Drink cranberry juice.

Quote
Tom, I never realized you pronounce your name with lund instead of land.  Is that your own preference or how your father pronounced it?

I don't know that I ever remember hearing my father say his last name.  i suppose it is my own preference.  There is no one else left in the family that has the name, so I guess I can say it any way that I want.

It's 91 degrees F today.  The cats and I can barely move.  I'm not turning on the AC yet.
