DR FJL how was the score for HARDBODY?  I kind of liked the idea, but couldn't figure out how the story could be staged....I guess that's a reason to see it!

Page Two Boss Hogg Dance.

Last night the director was gone and asked me to take the rehearsal.  The vocal director forgot to come, so I had 17 adults and 16 children....looking at me....at least I did have the pianist there....

Was this the first time a musical had 20 happy gay characters just being happy?  - a huge gay bar number where none of the gay characters end up with so much as a hangnail (though that swing at the end of the song looks dangerous :) )

SPOILER ALERT: (NOT A BIG SPOILER, it's set up early enough in the show)




Since it's a musical, it was set up early that the characters will step away from the vehicle when they're in their minds, like for the songs.

Also, IIRC, in the movie, too - each person got a very very short periodic break to take their hand off the car.

Can’t get into Violet or the stage Millie. Fun House had one or two isolated moments. Shriek was atrocious.

Jesse Green should not review musicals written before Sondheim. His review of Me and My Girl shows his willful ignorance of a type of show that, we get it, he doesn’t like. It was the same with The New Yorkers last year.

DR DRUXY when I did THE CRUCIBLE in 2012 with David Cryer - Jon Cryer's dad - and Britt Swanson Cryer.....they had stories about Mr. Bolger.

They met doing COME SEPTEMBER on the road and then bringing it to Broadway.  Britt said they got wonderful reviews on the road.  Audiences loved the show and Ray.  Then they got to NYC, and the show was ravaged by the critics.

Britt said Ray was a gentleman and very easy to work with.  If he didn't like something or someone - he would make his WIFE complain about it....so everyone hated her - but loved him.....

Unfortunately, I never met the man.  However, at one Hollywood premiere I attended, he was sitting in the seat right in front of me.

Friday afternoon greetings!  I had a morning coffee visit with Rebecca, stopped at a garage sale fundraiser to see my friends, and came home for lunch.  I've been answering emails and doing some other things to get ready to leave tomorrow for almost a week in Michigan with my sister.
