Well, after the fact, we had a typical winter day. No precip, but temps in the 30s. A cold front is moving in, and we're supposed to be in the 20s tomorrow, but it's supposed to warm up a little bit this weekend. Rain/sleet/snow is expected on Sunday - it will all depend upon the air temp.

And that's the weather... Over to you, Mitch, with sports!...

Of course, all those words are food:
lumpia = Filipino eggrolls
longanisa = A type of Filipino sausage, a cross between Spanish chorizo secco (dry) and pepperoni, but on the sweet side
pancit = The national noodle dish of the Phillipines. So many variations, but a bunch of them do contain longanisa.

...Like I said, only the words that count!

Btw, "pshaw" is not Tagalog.

*Btw, I haven't had any refined sugar since Monday! I even passed up the three dozen Krispy Kremes that were brough in today. And the two tubs of Trader Joe's cookies yesterday. And so on, and so on.... The real test will be not "sampling" the next time I bake, which I think will be Friday, so...

OH! I'm off tomorrow too! After my morning baby-sitting, I may actually watch a DVD or two (yes, DR MBarnum, it's on the top of the pile), and/or go out and see a movie in the theatres! And then tomorrow night is Must See TV which I haven't seen in a while. -Of course, since the decline of Must See TV has been reported here on this site and elsewhere... But I do plan on watching "ER"... The previews... Ooohh!

I think the first comedy couple I remember as a kid was (were?) Laurel and Hardy. Except I remember them as "Stan es Pan" which is how they were known in Hungary. But I know I didn't see them in Hungary -- so I must be thinking of what my mother called them when we saw their old films on TV in Canada...

In the Irony department (right next to Ladies Lingerie)... When I went to take the Wonderdog for a brief evening walk a lttle while ago, I found a book in an envelope lying on my doorstep. It had been left by the world's quietest messenger service, as I didn't hear a thing. The book was accompanied by a letter from a production company asking me to read it and see if I "respond to the material." They're going to make it into a CGI feature - the first of a trilogy. To cut to the chase -- I read the first chapter. It's narrated by a bird -- who calls himself "The Chooser." Honestly. Would I lie to you?

I am alive and well and on the way to being mended. Thank you all for the multitude of good vibes that have been sent my way in the last five days. I'll be back on the board more regularly as soon as DR Jed gets his butt out of my computer chair

Only kidding...he's been very kind about keeping me up to date on the goings on of the board. When I'm able to sit up for longer periods of time, I'll be able to make more appearances.
