Jane, I wish he would play and sing.  I hear he is almost as good as that Guy Haines fellow.

Good evening!

Wow!  Up to Page 10 already!  -Which means I'll be doing a lot of reading when I get back from the show.

I've had a nice afternoon!  8 dozen chocolate chip cookies!

;D

OK - gotta run...

Think Mancini, too....

...Two For the Road...(a clever guy can make a "duet" out of that)....

Guy could do a "Two Fer" duet medley:  "Two For the Road," then "Two For the Blues" and end (or start) with "Two Lost Souls."

Guy has done Two Lost Souls with the divoon Susan Egan.

My dinner plans are now wholly dependent on the weather.  If it rains, they're off, if it doesn't, they're on.  I hope they're on because a) it will be nice to see my pal Debby, and b) it will be nice to have a good meal.

Did a couple more pages - that may be it, or I may try to do two more just to finish this little section I'm in so that Margaret isn't left hanging in mid-thought.

Hello all ...

well, it is 8.30am Saturday ... a light rain is falling and I am listening to a cd that my dear friend Tomovoz made for me ....

... just out of interest, where is everybody located?   sometimes i don't know whether to say it's today, yesterday or tomorrow .....!

I'm in Olympia, Washington.  Just about 30 miles south of Tacoma, which is where DR Ann lives!

Ron, nice new avatar.

...New?....

I wish (circa 1978).

But I know what you mean.

Thanks!

(As you can see, I'd just had a swallow of my Nestle's Quik and forgot to wipe my mouth before the photo was taken....NOT....sigh.  Eyebrows and mustache had blond hairs mixed in with reddish-brown...and the blond ones just never showed up much in photos).

I have never had a moustache, weenie or otherwise.  I had a beard once, for a production of The World of Sholom Alecheim.  I've threatened to grow a beard a few times, but I get a week in and I cannot stand it any longer.

Here's my weenie face hair...heavily darked in with eyebrow pencil, but I grew the goatee because I was unable to grow a full beard.

Some other songs we're considering for Guy: Staying Young by Bob Merrill (from Take me Along), Where or When, On your Toes.  We'll probably only choose one Rodgers and Hart song, and most likely that choice will be On your Toes, one of my all-time favorite songs - such an inventively inventive tune and great lyric.  I get giddy just thinking about it.

Good afternoon all.
I am back and am now staple-free.  The doctor says I am healing nicely, no infection or brusing, and should be back to normal in a month or so.  Goody.

DRAnn, that's fantastic!  I hope all good things continue for you.

I had a mustache on and off for years to look older as an actor.  When I got old, I shaved it to look younger.

I can't imagine myself without a beard, or at least a moustache.

I've seen pics of der B clean-shaven, back from his Navy days, and he was danged cute back then.  But I much prefer his fuzziness now.

Dear BK: Please add to the lists of suggestions for Mr. Guy Haines to consider:

"Sailing," from A New Brain.  It has the sort of smooth melody that Mr. Haines sings so well.

I had a mustache on and off for years to look older as an actor.  When I got old, I shaved it to look younger.

Like most of my shipmates in the Navy of the 1970s, I grew a beard because I could and other military services could not.

It also made me "feel" cool and allowed me to be less conspicuous off duty in Europe.

But it just never, EVER looked good enough for me.  when I hit my 30th birthday, I forsook the beard, and went to the military extreme...going in for high-'n'-tight haircuts and a clean shave.

Occasionally, I'd grow the 'stache...

The Navy outlawed beards in the mid-1980s.  I think they can still have moustaches.

Weill's "Lost in the Stars" would be a magical touch, too.

elmore, I'll get an address to you.  Just thought of another duet.
How'd Ya Like To Love Me.  Martha Raye and Bob Hope did it in College Rhythm.

I don't know the song and I love both the singers.  What about "Thanks for the Memories"?  I love Shirley Ross' voice.

I occasionally go a weekend without shaving...and my skin totally pays the price...the facial hair sucks up all the moisture in my skin these days.

I'm thinking my acute allergies play into that, too, but I'm not sure.

Don't exclude Patty Duke (see my post from a couple of days ago).

Is that Shirley MacLaine in the gypsy pic?
