Last night, I went to the sing-through of the score of Legally Blonde to hear the whole score by this cast (I enjoyed them very much), but also hopefully to talk to the director and/or the stage manager.  Well, neither if them were there. :P I didn't know that beither would be there.  Oh, well.  I'll send an e-mail with my questions sometime tomorrow.

After I came home, I started playing Yoshi's Island on my mini SNES Classic and just lost track of time. ::)

T.O.D.

Not sure if they're on this weekend or next week, but the cable channels will soon be showing FILM STARS DON'T DIE IN LIVERPOOL and MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, so we'll be watching those.

I still don't understand why they remade ORIENT EXPRESS.  The original was a perfect film.

If you want to do an Agatha Christie, there are plenty of other stories out there.

Nice links yesterday....I particularly enjoyed reading about the show DR GEORGE is doing and the Johnny Mathis interview was very good....thanks DR JOHN G.

Johnny Mathis was Annette's favorite singer!  She mentioned that several times in interviews....

His "Greatest Hits" and "On Broadway" LP's are two of my favorites of all time.....

We did Act One and Act Two, Scene One, last night....this play is really very funny - and MY cast gets it....I am very pleased with the results thus far....

I myself laughed several times....and I added two bits that I am sure MR BK would have thought of himself....that got many chuckles from all of us....including a pun that Mr. Simon himself must have considered, but then thought better of.....

I am working on the story for Beauty and the Beast that will go out over the media in the next couple of days - now that I have the FULL cast/staff/crew list....

And then I shall work on the unwieldy slide show.....44 slides....44!!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday.  Rebecca and I had an early breakfast date and a nice long visit.  Got home just as the news broke that there was an emergency unfolding at Wright Patterson Air Force Base near here, so I turned on the TV and got engrossed with the coverage.  Turns out to have been a training exercise that went sideways and there was no actual emergency, but it was interesting to watch.

So, the afternoon storms cleared in time to get the stage dry and set everything else up, and we had a beautiful first act on a beautiful evening. It was a damned good show. Following intermission, the Entr'acte and Fully Dressed proceeded nicely, then at the very top of the FDR scene...

The deluge.

This was my first time to have to deal with the frantic packing up of instruments and getting everything back to shelter. It got done, but it didn't become one of my favorite things.

Same thing could happen this evening. Or it could be worse beforehand and the show gets called. Or who knows. The forecasts change by the hour.

The joys of outdoor theatre.

I have to take Chester to the groomer in a half hour.

That's going to be fun.

Here's something I might have asked before, but the subject has come up again and without looking back through old posts...

I've been offered the chance to MD a local production of "A Year With Frog and Toad". I don't know the show, and as far as I know, I haven't heard a note of the music. So, first, is it clearly worth doing? I see positive things posted about it, but I want y'all's opinions.

Also, MTI says it calls for a cast of five and a seven-piece band:  2 reeds, 1 trumpet (w/piccolo trumpet), 1 trombone, guitar, bass (and tuba), percussion, and apparently no keyboard. Since I know this small venue can't accommodate the seven pieces, I'd appreciate any thoughts on a reduction, or even the feasibility of a piano/bass/drums realization. (If this score would lose to much in the transformation, maybe I wouldn't want to be the one putting it out there.)

Thanking y'all in advance.

My friend Frank was in it but I never saw it.  I think you need to listen to the recording ASAP.
