We had a good storm last night. So early this morning I went outside and pulled some of the &$^% bermuda grass. I got stung by a wasp.

:o Yikes!  FORTUNATELY, I haven't been stung by anything in more than 20 years!

The Motion Picture Academy has announced that they are now not only going to give an Oscar to the "Best Picture of the Year," but also the "Most Popular Picture of the Year".

Dumb idea!

The "Most Popular" Picture is determined by the box-office gross. Why does the Academy have to vote on that?

Exactly! :P

BK had an irritating day yesterday and I'm having one today. Perhaps it is National Irritation Week.

DR Laura may be feeling rather irritated by her wasp sting.

Vibes of comfort to DR Laura.

I am irritated because I woke up sick from the paint fumes. The workmen are here in the apartment today, but I don't think they're doing anything toxic. They're 3/4 done and then I'll have to clean up a bit and put things back. THEN I'll have the place to myself.

And I learned that there will be even more painting. I really, really don't want to have to move and schlep my stuff somewhere to avoid the paint fumes, but I may have to. I am still appalled that the manager hasn't had the decency to inform me that this is happening.

LOL DR FJL....I'll have to check the HHW rule book.

While you're checking, can you check whether we can declare Cabot Cove a real place for the purposes of this site.

That Jessica Fletcher. She means well, but  any time I see she's staying at the same hotel as me, I skedaddle asap!

Cher has released her first ABBA song, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme.

I like it.

Something very interesting is happening today. I found an article on how bank apps are too confusing for customers. So, I started to read this to see how I can improve my work. Turns out we were cited as the best in the business, and my response (same as my work wife’s) was, well, we’re doing our job.

The new boss, however, sent it out to folks above with her praise attached. And the highest level boss she reached out also sent Krista and me congratulations. This hasn’t happened here before.

That's pretty cool, John!  Congrats on your congrats!

I like it, too.  It'll never supplant the original, but what cover version would?

TCB, Phoenix is a popular area for retirees. Yes, it is miserably hot in the summer, but you just stay inside. We have no snow, no hurricanes, little humidity (only with the summer storms), and a pretty good cost of living.

Unlike Washington you do have an income tax.  Nevada is state income tax free.
