Looking forward to the William Warfield-Leontyne Price version.

The less said of the Audra MacDonald-Norm Lewis version the better.

Thank goodness this cast comes off.  I had my arm checked today and needed blisters on my elbow treated.  P,ease, vibes the blisters are gone before I return home as they will delay my surgery.

John you look great as a knight.

Glad other people are thinking this.  I wrote my initial sartorial thoughts last night, then hurried to erase them out of fear that I might get hit with a MeToo-type harassment suit.

I have to remind myself that comments that may have been OK, even charming, thirty years ago need to be censored these days.  :)

Political thoughts on John McCain:

So much glossing over (as it MUST be right now) that McCain made a pretty huge lasting crass running mate decision that he's respectfully said he's regretted in hindsight.  Yet that can't change the lasting impact of that VP candidate decision and that it had quite a role as it seems too have guided us towards where we are now.  Or that he was pleased to use her in his 2010 re-election bid, though he had sort of parted ways with her after the 2008 election.
https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/27/us/politics/27mccain.html

So yes, everybody should pay tribute, show honor, to his real war heroism and salute a sincere political life dedicated to HIS true conservative beliefs, though he was  flexible now and then.

But maybe, can we wait a few months before re-naming buildings and the like, as our very esteemed New York Democratic Senator is proposing.

I think that’s why the postal service used to wait 10 years before putting a person (not a head of state) on a stamp after their death. I don’t know if they do that anymore, now that stamp collecting (philately) has become worthless.

I have liked Lewis since the original Side Show, But Porgy wasn’t in his vocal range.

Audra’s take on the part was depressing, though her singing was OK. It was too mannered, surprisingly not as moving as she has been in other roles.

The rewrite of the libretto was seemingly created by the goat whose part was cut.

Ha! E-harassment. It’s a whole new field. Would that be #E-MeToo?

Monday afternoon greetings!  We're in the slow lane today, staying inside to avoid oppressive heat and humidity outside.

They were still issuing stamps in 2012. This celebrated the new Piaf stamp, and I clearly had free creative time while waiting to get tax work.  :)

I enjoyed reading about DR GEORGE and his family meeting their new relatives....

Thanks, Jrand!  I hope that there'll be more to write about. :D

George, it sounds like your family visit yesterday will be a little like mine this December. My German is not as good as it should be, but after a couple of drinks I don’t care and I start nodding in agreement to most anything.

Have y’all tried using an app like iTranslate, which translates immediately?

We tried something like that a couple of years ago when my mom's younger (before Michael came along) brother and his wife visited, but using it wasn't very efficient.  Both Michael and Suzie speak English, so it works out well enough.
