This morning around 10 I will schlep down to 14th Street to meet our DR KevinH and his friend Paul for brunch. Then I must get back, hopefully finish "Brotherhood of Man," and pay a few bills.

Hope you all had a great time!

Bruce, I wonder if the uncut onion had not been cold if you would have noticed it smelled off.

Actually, don't let onions touch anything in storage. I've had other things go bad from that. Don't remember what now, but I make sure there's separation.

While our onions are in the same drawer as the potatoes we keep the onions separate and place them in a wire colander.

I didn't know about any of these "rules." ::)

Traffic is a complete mess today.  The bus ride back took me over an hour.  It shouldn't have bee more than 40-45 minutes.

I had a wonderful visit with DR KevinH and Paul.  The breakfast was really really really (as Thatch would emphatically say) good!

DR Laura, I think the angels said to Leonard, right over there, little boy; see that house?  That's the best place for you, so move your ass.

DR ChasSmith, that's the old Tams-Witmark Threepenny Opera score that the Kurt Weill Foundation moved with all the Weill shows to Rodgers & Hammerstein shows.  that's the penmanship of my late friend Dale Kugel. Remind me of your question.

In my experience it takes a long time for onions to go bad. If they're stored uncut at room temperature, at some point they'll get soft and at that point if you cut you'll see the mold. Stored in the fridge, it's more like they just eventually appear soft and mealy. Even then, in a pinch, they've been edible...if bland.

And that helps my memory, because Tams-Witmark is what I would have known in the 1960s.

My question was simply whether that same "hand" is what has been out there all these years. I couldn't imagine it would be copied by hand twice, but I'm happy to see that's what it is, and that it's another Dale Kugel.

I also completely forget why "Dependency" wasn't in the published score.

Well, I finally need to get ready for my union meeting and some other errands.

Be back later.

The original German vocal score from Universal Edition omitted the song because it was too dirty.  It's in the new German edition along with Michael Feingold's English version.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  Fr. Richard assisted this morning and preached a very informative sermon about St. Teresa of Avila.  We went out for brunch on the way home.  Watching the Cincinnati Bengals and dozing a bit.

Years ago we purchased one of these to store the uncut portion.

I use exactly the same onion storer for my cut onions

I was approached by the Pastor last week about throwing a fancy coffee hour today for our beloved Sexton who is leaving us as her husband ( a  second career Pastor) was just called to a church in Pennsylvania

Since I dearly love  Sara I was all for it.  I volunteered to contribute 2 cold cut platters .  I was told that a cake and decorations and other goodies would be brought by the 2 ladies who brought the idea to Pastor

I decided yesterday while at BJs picking up the platters to get 100 small croissants , 4 quarts of flavored creamer and some pretty paper plates , napkins and table cloths
