Watching a Doris Day flick called Lucky Me with a score by DR Druxy's client, Sammy Fain. Phil Silvers, Nancy Walker, Eddie Foy Jr. and more. It's fun, if a bit old.

Back from a wretched lunch at some barbecue jernt - Wood Ranch, a chain. More about that later. Then saw 42nd Street. Not a very good production - lots of Gower choreography but not all and the stuff that wasn't his paled - how could it not?

It starts out in 1943, and a Rosa Parks-on-the-bus type situation, then it jumps to 1955. I wonder what's going to happen.

Well, the character was Rosa Parks, and when they jump to 1955, it's the day before she doesn't move to the back of the bus.

Started reading Nate Expectations, the third and final volume of the Better Nate Than Never series from Tim Federle. At least in the first 75 pages, the series seems to have lost some of its charm. A lot of it is by rote, though the occasional bit can hit the target dead-on.

Kevin, have they ever heard the Johnny Mathis record "Evie?" It's a bit down, but it's really nice - and if you don't really hear the words, it's still called "Evie."
